So far I have Flying Fish on my ADR list for our next trip. All the reviews I have searched for have been quite old and I wondered if there was any new commentary on the place. What do you think? We're on the dining plan so cost isnt an issue but I want to make sure its a place worthy of two credits and not a glorified Red Lobster. The reviews I did read seemed to complain about the steak. Steak?? Its a seafood place, hows the seafood? Thats what I want to know. Any comments, good or otherwise would be helpful.

I have not been there since last November so cant tell you up to date but both times we have gone there the food has been fantastic. The Sea Scallops I had last year were delicious and the year before the potato wrapped Snapper was great as well. I would say its a definate place you want to eat if you like seafood at all.

fabulous!!! FF is one of our favorites. actually, my husband did have steak there one trip and said it was great. go and enjoy!

There is one steak, one, on the menu, and it's one of their signature items.
Most of the menu is seafood, and is very good. The potato wrapped snapper, the scallops, and the salmon were all excellent in November 2006.

Good thing Im leaving work to eat lunch now because my mouth is watering thinking about seafood. Flying Fish is offically on the list!

Flying Fish is a great restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

We have really enjoyed our meals at the Flying Fish. The crab cakes appetizer was very good and I had a fabulous piece of halibut on our last visit.

You guys are making me hungry and I just ate! Im a sucker for scallops so how are the scallop dishes there? Any scallop recommendations?

a really really great place...the potatoe red snapper is their signature dish, it was very good and i don't really care for fish that much! :thumbsup2

I've has scallops (X2) and mahi mahi; DD can't stay away from the salmon (X3). Appys are good and the desserts are to die for.....

ENJOY!

We ate at FF last in 2005 and loved it. I had the Potato Crusted Red Snapper and it was my favorite meal on that trip.

We have been regulars at the Flying Fish our last couple of trips. We went again last week and I think we will wait a while until we go back. I had my usual - the potato wrapped snapper - and it was just "ok". My dh had some sort of meat (sorry, don't remember exactly what) and he also said that his was just ok...

It is a pricey place to eat so we will wait a while until we go back. The service was very good so no complaints there. Maybe it was just us that night but we weren't real thrilled with the food.

My DW & I ate there in January for the first time & loved it. If you're all not salivating enough after reading all of the great reviews, I'll try to make it even worse for you with some pix.

First off, the entrance of course...

Then we move inside...

Obviously we need a few cocktails to get started. My DW ordered a Cosmo & I tried out the wine flight...

Disney07333.jpg

On to the appetizers. My DW got the cheese plate with a variety of cheeses...

Disney07336.jpg

I ordered the "Peeky Toe" Crab Cake with "Flying Fish" Slaw and Ancho-Chile Remoulade...

Disney07335.jpg

For our entrees, my DW ordered the deservedly-famous Potato-Wrapped Red Snapper with Creamy Leek Fondue and Red Wine Butter Sauce...

Disney07338.jpg

I got the Oak-fired Dayboat Scallops with butternut squash risotto, wild mushrooms, aged balsamic, edamame, & crispy serrano...

And to top off the evening, we had some tasty desserts. My DW had the Flying Fish Chocolate Collection...

And I forget what mine was exactly{the menu on Allears doesn't show it, so perhaps it wa s a special that night}...

All in all, a great evening & we will definitely be going back again. In June actually. And the open-air kitchen is a nice attraction too. You'll have a blast.

Now everyone go get some lunch!

I've only seen one scallop main course, oak grilled scallps with risotto. The risotto ingredients change seasonally. I've had three different versions (all excellent)--asparagus, mushroom and squash.
