Flybe/VA Baggage Question

Has anyone used Flybe to Gatwick then VA onwards to Orlando-if so were you able to check your bags straight through to Orlando?

Spoke with Virgin and they said its not possible we have to reclaim at Gatwick then recheck with VA. I am sure I have checked them straight through before! Can't get through to flybe to ask them!

the problem is that Va and FlyBe will not have an agreement, or computers which talk to each other, rather like trying to get VA and BA to check your bags through!
the only ones they will chack through are partner airlines, such as BMi Baby

We have previously used the Flybe connection from Belfast - last time in Dec 03 - but we were able to check our bags straight through. We took the first flight out, 7.30am I think and then the 12.30 from Gatwick. No problem doing this and then there was no need to go to baggage reclaim in Gatwick and join the very long queue for check-in

This year we are travelling a day before so we will be taking advantage of the twilight check-in - a long time to wait until December 9th 2006
