Flowers and Star Wars and Harry, oh my! TR started, link inside!

I see your pictures with kids all around the characters. I'm glad we have official lines now. I also have pictures with other kids around. Not as picture perfect ;)

I'm glad for that too. I think if I had to fight my way to a character I would not bother and would have no character pictures.

I'm late but I'm in! I loved your old Disney photos!!!! And we loved CSR when we stayed there, it was really a nice resort, you really feel like you are in a different place when you're there.

Hope you had a Merry Christmas.

:woohoo: Just ordered a new camera! It is a Christmas present but my family knows me well enough that they gave me the cash and told me to pick out the camera myself instead of choosing one for me. (I am super picky and very particular).

I decided to get a waterproof camera. Erich's camera is great for regular conditions and takes great pictures and video, my old camera doesn't too badly either, BUT considering our luck with weather and my own clumsiness, I figured a waterproof camera was the way to go. This way if it rains we don't need to worry about getting the camera wet, we can take it on water rides and use it in the waterparks and pools and I can use it when I go on my next cruise whenever that should be.

In addition to being waterproof it is also freezeproof up to -10C (great for our cold Canadian winters), shockproof from up to 4.5 ft and dustproof so I don't need to worry about sand at the beach.

There are lots of waterproof models out there currently. Olympus, Fugi, Sony, Lumex, Canon, etc.

The three brands I was looking at were Olympus, Sony and Canon.

Olympus has the biggest variety in cameras but it's reviews are only so-so, apparently the out of water image quality is not that great. The price was right though and I liked how it looked.

The Sony was more expensive than the Olympus and had better reviews. This was what I was going to get until I considered the Canon.

I knew about the Canon from 2009 when I took my cruise, it had just been released then and was selling for mucho bucks, that is why I did not initially consider it. I went back to look at it though and the price has dropped a lot since 2009, go figure! ;) It was now the same price as the Sony and had very consistent good reviews.

The Olympus and Sony both had reports saying that the image quality was not that great out of water. The Canon however had great reviews. Everybody said it operated just as well as a regular Canon but you could also use it in extreme conditions. That, the price, and the fact that we are a Canon family are what sold me.

Here it is!

Only detractors to waterproof cameras, the zooms aren't that great (3x) and the megapixels are not as high as in regular cameras. This one comes with 12 and that seems good enough to me, way better than what I had before!

Can't wait until it arrives! There was only one store in town that carries the camera and they were sold out. I ended up ordering from Amazon, it was the cheapest that I could find it and that ended up being $30 less than the store here in town.

I can't wait until it arrives and I can start playing with it!

The camera looks great! I want to get a waterproof camera before May too. I have been maybe the Sony. Can't wait to hear what you think of it.

So I only just now realized you did my Disney survey. That's so awesome, I'm glad it's catching on!

I want to visit Tokyo Disney too. The only thing I am afraid of though is getting around. I don't speak any Japanese whatsoever and I am afraid of getting lost. I know some people say it's fairly easy...just like navigating the subway/train station at home but we don't have a subway/train station where I live so I will be lost anyway!

So cool! My last camera is a Canon and I bought it in 2006. It's still good. But slowly starting to go away. Great quality, let me tell you ;)

Tokyo is a little intimidating, that is why I am trying to convince one of my brothers to go to Japan with me, that way I am not alone when I get lost! Sadly, nobody I know has any interest in going to Japan. :guilty:

All our cameras are Canon as well, I really like them so it was the natural choice for me.

The Camera looks great!! So now we can expect some awesome underwater shots !!

Good morning Rosie, I hope you are feeling better. I hope you and your family had a great Christmas!. It will be nice to have a water camera for this trip, as I plan on being in or near water the WHOLE trip, and I am not talking about rain!. As for the awesome shots, that will depend on who has the camera....:3dglasses

Oohhh...looks good! I need to get a waterproof camera one of these days.

I am always so nervous about my camera at Disney when it rains or on the water rides.

Can't wait to see the pics you take with it! :thumbsup2

I am very excited to get my hands on the camera. I wish I had a cruise coming up so that I could take it snorkeling. :guilty:

It will be nice not having to worry about the rain and rides damaging the camera. :thumbsup2

I'll be sure to take lots of pictures with it as soon as it arrives.

Lessa, I'll be glad to take it with me on our Dream cruise in September and try it out for you at CC!!! I know, I know, only someone as generous as me would make that offer!:lmao:
