My DD9 and myself are located in the cold, unknown region of Minnecolder.

We are planning a trip Dec 17 - 27; however, we don't know what to wear. Should we wear jeans and sweatshirts everday? Should we wear shorts and t-shirts? If its above 32 degrees with no windchill that is HOT to us :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . Seriously, we are looking for any information on weather trends for Florida in December.

I am looking forward to the warmer weather I am sure Florida will bring during our 10 day Christmas trip. Any tips you can provide will be helpful!

Thanks in advance!

I'd like to know the asnwer to this, too.

We're going the same dates as you.....December 17-27.....coming from California.

Where are you staying?

Weather in Florida in December most of the time you will find the daylight hours very comfortable above 65 and even warmer if it is a sunlit day, but as soon as the sun sets, you will need your jackets. So just come prepared for a little chilly weather and you will be fine.

December weather can be very fickle down here, one day beautiful and the next down right cold, you will more than likely need some warm clothes especially at night, also when it is 40 here it is a different 40 than what you are used to since it is a damp cold...........I have actually worn a ski jacket to a couple MVMCPs! Just check the 14 day weather forecasts before you close the suitcases. In most cases you probably will be fine with shorts and t's during the day, but the weather has been crazy everywhere!

I use to live in Fl and I now live in Atlanta--

I would say jeans/shorts and shirts/sweatshirts--(layer-you will take off)I now like to wear shorts in 55 degree weather--my blood has gotten thicker I guess--would have never done that in FL!!

I would recommend a sweatshirt jacket or lightweight--you should be fine.

Hope this helps!!

First of all...if you are from a cold weather area, I wouldn't ask Floridians what to wear in December! We were there December 2003 and being from Michigan we were quite comfortable in shorts and tshirts during the day with adding a sweatshirt in the evenings. You could certainly tell the people who were from the warmer climates. They were always in jeans and coats, sometimes heavy coats and even gloves! We thought they were crazy and I'm sure that they all thought the same of us!

This is so true! DH is a native Floridian, and I am originally from Ohio (though I move here as a child). As soon as it gets below 70, he thinks the ice age has set in! I don't own a heavy coat, but he does, and we live in the same place. To me, 35 degrees here is warmer than it is in OH. That being said, in December, jeans and short sleeve shirts will get you through most days, with a sweater/sweatshirt for evenings, but we do get some good cold fronts come through where it does get into the 20's sometimes.
