Next April I'm escorting/organising a trip to Orlando for a sports club I help run. We've found what appears to be an excellent deal on the Floridays resort and we like the idea of the bedrooms all being connected to kitchen/lounge as it's easier for supervision purposes.

Can anyone tell me more about the shuttle to Universal/Disney? Or about the resort in general or location wise? It all looks great and gets good reviews but I'm not overly knowledgeable about hotels outside of Disney because I always stay on site. Would love to hear from anyone who has stayed there or anyone with other equally good accommodation suggestions. :thumbsup2

Hi Natalie

We are going to the floridays next April for the first time, would love to know people's thoughts on this hotel!

It does look nice and the reviews are mainly good

Hi,

I've been staying at Floriday's every year since it has opened, (and im going in 3 weeks!) and it's worth the money! I can't speak for the shuttle buses as we've always used the car, but we are planning on using it this year as there are 10 of us going and we want to do different things etc. So once I am back I will try to let you know what it was like! The shuttle times for the buses are on their website though if you wanted to have a look.

The apartments are large, are a perfect size & very modern. It's about a 5/10 minute drive to downtown disney and the disney area which is convenient, as well as it being a universal partner hotel you can get a discount card when you check in to get 15% off food in both universal parks & select city walk restaurants, as well as a discount for souveniers. They have a small arcade for the children, a gym, free wifi by the pool and lobby & computers where you can pay for minutes online. Also about a 2 minute drive away is the Premium Outlet as well as a Publix so you can do some food shopping for the apartment! The hotel has a cafe (with starbucks!) & a bar by the pool which is lovely! There's an Itrolley bus station across the road which can take you up and down international drive.

Overall Floriday's is a lovely resort which is value for money!

Hope this helps!! :)

May I ask where you found the deal for next April? I'm searching too, and this resort caught my interest. They are also a Sea World Partner hotel?

oh yes they're a sea world partner hotel too, forgot about that! :)

Just to let you know we always book with alpharooms.com , not sure if there are any better/cheaper offers, but that's where we book ours :)

You may want to check with the Hotel about the shuttles.

We always stay at the Sheraton Four Points on I-drive and the shuttles, along with a fair few other hotels in the area are actually commissioned by US and Seaworld. They have a limit of 6 guests per party so may not take a massive group, esp in peak season.

However, that being said when we go away which is normally January/February the buses are empty and so i dont see why the wouldnt take a larger party.

Just a thought if you are planning to rely on the shuttles. You may beable to cheat the system depending on how many there are of you. Something you may wish to consider ;)

The deal we were looking at was through Expedia and we were getting around £80 back from a fundraising site, that our team is registered with, it has various deals and cashback offers. Hence why it was working out as such a good deal!

But in the end we've opted to stay at All Star Sports, as it was an even better deal and overall seemed quite a safe place to stay with that many teenagers. We also ended up hiring a vehicle to take trips to the nearby malls and to Universal as again it seemed like a lot less hassle than getting that many people on to a shuttle.

Will keep Floridays in mind, just in case I ever come to look at a similar trip again, it looks very nice on all the photos I've seen and good location too. Glad you like it so much Gaby and Dan! I guess we might be holidaying at the same time this year too as we leave for Florida the 27th. :thumbsup2
