Whilst having my cup of tea tonight I had another random question/thought...

Is the tap water to drink, make a cup of tea, etc better or worse than Sydney or Melbourne or Brisbane?? Brushing my teeth I can live with, but my morning up of tea... Well I tend to be a fuss pot when it isn't quite right:rolleyes: Might need to get lots of water from Garden Grocer!

as a side note, I'm taking a kettle and tea with me, purchased one from Amazon pretty cheaply and had it sent with other stuff, worked out about the same with postage as buying it there.

I would never have thought to bring my own kettle -

I was planning on getting a refillable mug and sending DH to the food court each morning (he is an early riser) and getting my mornng coffee.

Our condo had a kettle, and I did not notice any difference when making a hot drink (but the US version of Nescafe is blergh!). For a drink of water, I prefer bottled to tap water (but I am fussy).

I always take my little travel jug and boil bottled water. I don't like the water at either WDW or DLR.

Coffee in the food court at the All Stars is like muddy dish water so is the hot chocolate. I always carry my own tea bags. Although I'm a coffee drinker I generally don't drink it when I'm in America.

I think Orlando water is close to Adelaide water, so worse than Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane water. I tend to stick to bottled but also take a Brita Fill and Go Filtered Sports Bottle for if I run out of bottled.

Thanks all - when we order water I'll make sure I include water for tea. We're not huge coffee drinkers.

When we were at DL we ended up buying water from Target for tea, but I was hoping it may b e different in Orlando!!!

BattyMum - if you're a tea drinker or even some coffee it might be worth getting a kettle. The coffee maker unit in the room in no way can make water right for either!!!

We thought the water was fine. My wife is a many cups of tea a day drinker and we also take a small kettle and boil the water up no probs. All tea drinkers are fussy I reckon :rolleyes1 and she doesn't complain. I agree, the coffee is vile, but hey in the morning, it's a coffee! :)

I'm fussy with my water too. Buy water. :thumbsup2

But just remember that if you are on a dining plan, that you'll be able to get water as part of your meal. Even at the CS places, I was asking for iced water as well as getting a bottled water as my drink. Most CS places serve filtered water...especially if it is coming out of the drinks dispenser. I would drink the iced water with my meal and then take my bottled water for later in the afternoon.

I don't drink coffee but I am amused when I read Americans referring to the coffee in the food courts as Nescrape. They don't even seem to be joking, just calling it that like that's the name!

Have you tried the Nescrape? It's an apt description. Usually percolated....and left on the warm/hot plate for hours; which means that the water evaporates and the coffee thickens (and burns)! Sometimes, the waitress is scraping the bottom of the pot to pour a cup out!
