florida residents staying on-site

my parents just announced their moving to Florida! they'll be there prior to our family trip in Nov. so i suggested that they rent some rooms onsite for all of us since they offered to pay for some of our expenses.

is it like AAA where there is a discount year-round or are the discounts only offered periodically throughout the year?

what's the least expensive time of year - i would assume value season - or are the best deals going on now in the summer time? i would like to hear more about the discounts & if they are the similar from year to year. thanks.

They can rent up to 3 rooms but they must be staying in a room. The person renting the room must show FL drivers lic upon checkin.

The discounts vary with value season being the best but they also don't come out with the discounts very earlier in the year. Just a few months before the dates.

FYI - They have a Resident rate right now that runs $189 for deluxe. We checked and saw YC and BC for that price per night. You're in for some good deals if you're flexible.

I'm not sure, to be honest, we usually stay concierge, but since this is a short trip with no specific dining plans in mind, it's perfect for us to do standard at the YC and spend only one day at the park and lounge in the pool the rest of the time. The waitress usually learns my name and my drinks in a few hours and the flow continues throughout the entire stay. Not much more I'd ask for, except that my son lowers my "slide" quota down to 50 times a day from 100...

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question . If a Fla resident can rent up to 3 rooms, do they just have to be in one of the rooms, or would DMIL and DFIL have to split and each be in a room (with there then being no possibility of getting a 3rd room since we run out of residents )?

Once you get the key cards, you're at liberty to organize as you please. Disney won't give you a hard time over this, simply be subtle at the counter and then take it from there. You'll be fine, and really, there's nothing wrong with doing this.

What I said was that they "must be staying in A room" not that a resident had to be staying in each of the rooms.
