Florida Resident ???

My parents recently became FL residents. Dad called WDW and found a four day pass price good through 9/30/03. WDW said there is no deal on passes past this date. Now, does this mean there is no deal currently and they will post that deal later (kind of like the AP rates)? Or does this mean they are doing away with the Resident program all together? We wanted to go in December.

The deal your dad was told about is the Florida Pay 4 Days pass, which is available seasonally. It's a heavily discounted four day park hopper, but unlike the regular kind this one has an expiration date on which unused days expire (that being 9/30, I believe). They can be upgraded to Seasonal or Annual Passes as well if you are so inclined.

Florida residents get discounts on pretty much all of the regular Annual-Pass-type tickets all year long (and there are some options available exclusively to Floridians), and considering that the local market is getting more and more important for WDW, I doubt that they would eliminate this special pricing anytime soon. They are very strict in determining eligibility, however, it is not possible for your parents to purchase discounted tickets for any non-residents in your party.

How many days are you planning on being at WDW, and at what time in December are you planning to visit?

I am hoping to spend 7 to 10 days at WDW. We will probably spend Thanksgiving on Marco Island (where my folks are) and then head north directly. They offerred to purchase their grandchildren's tickets (our children) under the plan. I know they can't purchase mine or DH's. But my understanding is they can buy tickets for grandkids. Correct?

How can I find the price for Resident PH's which would be used during December? I'd like to compare cost. Thanks!

Seasonal Passes would probably work best for you. They cost $161 plus 6.5% tax for kids and are valid for one year during non-peak periods for the four major theme parks (the Christmas black-out period does not start until December 20, so you should be fine). To put that into perspective, that is about what a non-discounted regular Four Day Park Hopper costs for the kids.

While the Seasonal Pass does not include the water parks, you can purchase those admissions separately and more than likely still save money over buying a Park Hopper.

Sorry, but one more question, please? If my folks purchase the resident seasonal pass for the children, can I take them at a later date using the same pass? Of course, I'd have my own non-resident ticket. Thanks again!!

Yes, you could take them until the date the pass expires
