Okay I'm not sure if I'm at the right board or not but I going to ask. I just found out that we are going to have to move to Florida this summer. I heard that Florida residents get better deals at WDW, is this true? Would it be better to wait until after we move before planning out trip? Also, you don't become an Offical "Florida Resident" until you live in the state for 6 months, does Disney go by this or just show your license? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks :Pinkbounc :confused3

I would wait. The FL resident passes are significantly cheaper that annual passes. I think the only proof you need is a DL. Sbella

A currrent FL drivers license is required at check in and at the time you purchase your tickets. We moved to FL 4 yrs ago and we love it!!! Tickets are very reasonable and we also get some good deals on rooms even during peak season (I paid 79.00 per night at the values at Christmas). Last fall they had a fantastic Florida Resident promotion that included the free dining with FL resident room rates and FL resident ticket prices. It was an incredible deal. I have my fingers crossed that they will have it again this year. :sunny:

A Fla resident is a Fla resident--you get your driver's license or your voter registration card or any other identification on the website, you are a resident.

You could probalby make bookings--though I'm not sure if they can apply codes to a ressie without a Fla address, but they might. You will be required to show your proof on arrival or at anytime you are actually making a purchase.

If you know the zip code of where you will be living--you can actually look up some deals on the website.

You'll be amazed at how much you save.

Whenever hubby wants to move out of state---it's like..but we'll lose our florida residency--we'll have to pay more for Disney. NOOOOOO!!!!

LOL!

In fact--I shudder at having to ever pay "out of state" price for tickets. EEEK!

Oh I envy anyone who is a resident and can get cheaper tix. We are heading there in May for hubbys first trip ever and I'm not looking forward to the prices for Epcot..lol

Here in CA, residents in Southern CA get cheaper tix, but there are so many black out dates that it is ridiculous and not really worth it...in my opinion anyway.

I'd like to be a florida resident for a day please. Anyone know where I can sign up for that... :rotfl2:

You don't have to wait 6 months. You will be a resident right away. :thumbsup2

Yes, you go to the DMV in FL on your first day of your trip and get a FL ID or DL!

I always had a CA res. pass when we lived in SoCal. I hated going on non-block out days anyway because of the crowds.

check out myflorida.com for the ID's you need to get your new DL. it varies by what state you're moving from. we got our WDW SP's with our old DL's and a copy of our electric bill with our new FL address.

My sister just bought a vacation home there. Do they qualify for anything?
