Florida resident ID limitations

My mom, a part year Florida resident, has decided to join us for our trip to WDW in October. I know that the Play4Days pass is valid then, so I was checking on ID requirements for her. I know that Disney used to accept a number of different types of ID to show residency. It looks like they have changed things, and now they only take driver's license/state ID, military ID, or school ID. My mom doesn't have any of these, but she has utility bills, a checking account, condo documents, etc which show her address. She has simply maintained her Illinois license, and never needed another photo ID. I called, and the CM just quoted the info on the website. I have emailed Disney, but wonder if any of you have any other information or insight on this. I hate to spend the first morning of her 4 day stay at the DMV getting an ID card!

She lives in FL, correct? Can't she go to the DMV before the trip and get an ID? I live in FL.. and it's really easy and fast.. 20 minutes at the most.

Good luck.

She live in Fl from November to April. She is in IL from April till November. She is flying to Orlando just for this trip in October, so it is a big pain to get to the DMV. If she would have thought about this before, it would have been no biggie at all. It did't even occur to us, because Disney always acceted proof of residency, like a utility bill, with an out of state photo ID.

My parents also live in Florida for half the year, and they had to get Florida ID's in order to get the Florida Resident pass. It only took them a few minutes, and they got them right then and there.

Is she registered to vote in Florida? They will also accept a voters registration card and a photo id.

She is registered in Illinois. As she was an Il resident for most of her life, she never bothered to switch anything over, and as she is only in FL about 6 months of the year, it has never been a problem. Unless Disney calls me with an alternative, we will stop at the DMV our first morning and get her an ID. It is a pain to use vacation time this way, but c'st la vie! Hopefully it will be quick.

I have just moved to Orlando (june). First disney is very strict with the photo id. We tried no go. Second Orlando DMV are a nightmare! Some only make appointment for weeks away. when we finally went to one that doesn't take appointment we waited 3 hours. good luck

I have another question about this. We have friends that live in orlando and we will be staying with them for part of our trip and the other part at POP. My friend and her husband are going to be going to the parks with us, and I am wondering if they can buy tickets for us, too?

They will ask for Id's of everyone buying a ticket. (I had this happen to us:( )
They can buy as many tickets as there are ids.
Good luck younever know what castmemeber you may get :D

I would call the DMV before you go. Some of the offices are very busy and you need an appt. even for the ID card. You don't want to be surprised when you get there.

After hearing how crowded the DMV can be, I called to schdule an appointment for our first morning in Orlando. It looks like the Kissimmee office is closest to our hotel and WDW. I was told to call back in a couple of weeks, because they are not booking for October yet. I figure I will try in 1 week, as I really want to get a convenient time! I also received an email from Disney indicating they are forwarding my concerns to the Executive Offices, and someone will contact me. Does anyone know how long that process may take? I will post any info I get!
