Florida Resident Holiday Discount just released...no luck for me.

I just got off the phone with Disney World Reservations as the Florida Resident rate is out through Dec 2017 now. No luck for me. Tried to apply it to my existing late October Riverside reservation but the only type that came up was Riverview, a $200 up-charge from my Rack Rate Garden View. SO that's it. My first time for Food and Wine paying full rack rate. Caribbean Beach was available for a tiny amount less, so we'll keep what we have. We will have fun but a little discount would have been nice. Nothing under AP or Military either. I hope y'all have better luck.

Fortunately, we have had our reservation through a TA since February. Good thing, because there would have been no discount available for us for our dates for F&W, in a category that we are comfortable paying for. There were some club level rooms available, but I don't care to pay for club level during F&W.

We are eligible for AP & Florida Resident and of course general discounts and I checked under all 3 as soon as they came out.

Me neither. Had room already booked for week after Thanksgiving and was hoping for either AP for FL Res discount. Nothing. So for the next 90 days, I have to stalk.

No discounts for me either....

Looking like going forward FL and AP discounts won't mean anything. Might have to reconsider the "free" dining offers or look at DVC again (discounts always made it look less of a value). Generally Booking early isn't an issue as we have in the past been able to apply some discount to our stays. But last year and this year (so far) that didn't work out.

I'm not a Florida resident so not trying for this. But I was surprised to see this discount released knowing how few people have been able to get anything with the AP discount, PIN codes or heck even at rack rate. What good is it to release a discount when there are no rooms available to book??:confused3

Been all over the place with Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec .... with FL Resident, AP ............ nothing. I'm going with they had 2 rooms at each resort but saving face to say they offered it ............ thanks for nothing. Now looking at my 4 trips moved down to 2 trips and booking offsite ... and splitting time between WDW and UO/IOA.

We were scouting some quick 3 day weekend ideas for September.

Couldn't believe the rates at WDW. Offsite deals are amazing those weekends. I told DW we may never spend another night on site if this keeps up!

Same here. I'm going Nov 3-5 and although I was able to book the Dolphin, I would really like to stay at WL or POR. I've checked every day and still no luck. :worried:

Is it just me or is every year worse than the previous?
The discounts get worse every year yet so does the availability.. It get more expensive yet the availability is less every year.

Prices up, Discounts Down yet the hotels and parks are more crowded than ever. I guess Disney knows no matter how expensive people are still willing to pay.
We used to go to the Cabins every year, but its become just too expensive now. $1000 for 3 nights in a cabin (with FL Resident discount) is just insane now. Used to be able to stay 3 nights for around $600.

:(
