Florida Resident discounts

Having trouble finding info on Florida resident discounts at Fort Wilderness.

AAA discount was about 20% for us a few weeks ago (ok Halloween - time flies). Do resident discounts work similar? That is, they are limited in number and time of year? Does the discount vary?

Read that. It just says $23 off at value resorts. $23 is for everywhere? I figured that was typical and that it might be less at the Fort?

You can check prices and book current FL resident discounts at disneyworld.com. At the main page, towards the upper right is a link for "Florida Residents". Click on it and input your FL zip code. All of the current FL discounts you can book will be under Special Offers. Sometimes it may take a few different dates to try and get a sample rate.

Fl resident rates are limited, they offer a set amount available and they are usually only offered a couple of months at a time. Currently you can only book Fl resident rates up to 2/14/07. The amount of the discount will vary, usually depending on the season. During peak times (April vacation, Christmas week) there won't be any discounts available at all.

For Example:

1/9/07 (value season) with a Fl res. discount is $55.13 per night for full hookup w/ cable (tax included), or $39.38 per night for partial hookup (tax included).

Rack rates (with tax) would have been $61.88 for full hookup w/cable, or $46.13 for partial hook-up.

My dh always calls and talks to the hotel Direct. He will say something like "last time we came we got a really good FL resident rate, Are any available?" and he usually gets a pretty good rate. He also seems to get the rate on Saturday and sunday even though it is supposed to be a mon- fri thing. It never hurts to call and find out. It also seems like they like to see how often you go, On the phone the lady will always mention "Wow you come here alot" sice we go 5 + times a year over the last 3 years. It is our favorite place.
