Hi,
This was a previous request for information about VA Beach for my parents.
Now they have decided to go further south for the week after Christmas through January.
They would like a condo on the beach somewhere. They have not been there in a LONG time and we have only been to Disney.

They are retired, so cost is a big factor. Something not too expensive.

Does anyone have any recommendations of beaches or condos?

My in-laws winter in Destin, Florida every year. It is in the northern part of Florida so not sure if that is south enough for your parents. I believe they pay about $1400 for the month of January. I think January 1 is when the rates go down, so not sure what the December rate would be. Their condo is right on the beach and has a beautiful view. Temps in the Destin area in January are normally in the 60's. Good luck in finding a place!

that is a pricey week. I believe you need to go way further south than Destin. Destin will be awfully cool for a beach week. We live in between Fort Myers and Naples. i think Siesta Key near Sarasota would be a good spot.

We live in Brevard County on the barrier island. Do they want a beach-front condo? If so, there are plenty for rent monthly. There is a place called Indian Harbour Beach Club that runs about $2100/month for a 2bdr/2bath beach front condo. Owners seem to be flexible about adding extra weeks or nights onto monthly rentals at the same nightly rate. I've toured 2 of them and they are nice. Here is their website:

I'm sure that there are also monthly rentals in other condo buildings on A1A going up to Cocoa Beach...the IHB Club just comes to mind because I drive by it a lot and they always have the monthly rental sign up.

To get here it's easiest to fly into Orlando and then drive about an hour. You can also fly into Melbourne but I don't know if there are many direct flights here. The area is awesome, but then again I might be a little biased

I just read that they only want to come for a week. I'd recommend Oceanique resort in Indian Harbour Beach in that case. My parents have stayed there a bunch of times and we all just love it! It's a pretty small resort, but they should have some availability for that week I'd think. Here is their link:

I agree that for that time of year it needs to be South FL - north FL and the panhandle can actually be too cold to swim at that time of year.

I don't know about specific condos, but the places I would suggest are St. Pete Beach, Clearwater, Sarasota, and Miami.
