Florida Gator football lovers: A perspective on your program

Way to go Iowa! :rotfl2:

Sad to hear about their QB. Hope he'll be ok and back soon. It's unfortunate for Iowa the backup and rest of the team couldn't pull together what seems to have become their 4th quarter wins. Congrats on the programs best start in team history.

I like seeing Boise State at 6. They're my other favorite team (because they don't get enough attention/respect.)

Hi beach girl - I thought they would be higher, but I haven't looked at all the schedules and rankings....just hoping and praying we make through each Saturday with a win, kind of like the movie "any given sunday" - you never know....no matter what happens, SEC champ game here we come...!

...should be charged. she talked about...being sorry, that her emotions
got the best of her. spur of the moment thing. no it wasn't. she
was assaulting those girls..all thru....the game. if the truth be
known, she most likely bragging about it to her her friends.
[ borderline/personality traits] . she could have killed that girl
& if that was my daughter..i'll be seeking charges all the way. &
a lesson...she would not..soon forget.

..there are too many dynamics to explain how college football can be
improve...it was just to show, it can be. sports ,any sports shouldn't
be used as an avenue to harm others.

..those wanting the fla. 's lb to face stiffer penalties...but in compare
to what that girl was doing ..are letting their feelings toward fla. sucess
....effect their "reasoning" ability.

{ the same against the oregon player....no one see the double standards?
...fans can taunt, opposing players..., this case was handled very poorly,
effecting a young man's future. }

...sorry..i could not...remember the team, ther player..or the exact
incident..other than....the intention was malice...& should've resulted
in ...a corrective action. [ the player got by with it ].

as for the fla..lb, play. what i looked @....was his position in the "pile".
he was actual forward...& did not see exaclty what was going behind
him. it is possible his hand was being pinched when he reacted to
work it out. regardless, he had no vision to see what he was doing...
..and it looked like to me, others were just judging him...on the
"close-up". [ it just like watching the game from above..it is so..easy..
to see where the qb..to throw..the ball..isn't the same as being on the
field. ]

wonder why? didn't that girl player...expressed regret./..before she was caught.

oh, just a disclaimer....iam not seeking approval, & i've been married...
close to 30 years...so if i really wanted someone..to abuse me, i'll
just ....say something....about my wife's...diet. but it is true, i
don't mind....others..as long..as they don't become a threat..to
my family. i'm very old fashioned , like that.

Lil Grumpy are you serious?

Are you trying to be an confusing as humanly possible with your posts? after a complete sentence, put a period and a space, then post another sentence. Your writing style makes it very hard to follow.

I know you are talking about the New Mexico soccer girl, but I have been reading the posts of others and no one is arguing about her. It happened, it'll be dealt with accordingly. Trust our legal system, they are the experts, not you. They will make the right decisions.

As for Spikes, emotions do get the better of you, it happens, it has been dealt with, it's over. The other player said he shouldn't be suspended even. Now don't get me wrong, I am as anti-gator as it gets but the punishment fit the crime, move on.

The BCS exists and it is not perfect but the money from the bowls make a playoff unlikely. The major problem is everyone is wanting an 8 team playoff. Why not settle for an n+1? This is that after the BCS bowl games would be played, a championship game would be played after it; basically adding one more high quality game to schedules. Playoff advocates say this isn't enough but they should just settle.

Lil Grumpy, I didn't understand your last section, please don't force us to decipher your writing.

UUAWW, my main problem with the current BCS system is that there are teams like Boise State that have gone undefeated a few times and have yet to be given a chance to win a national championship because of the teams that they play during their season (but they've also beaten a big name school in a Bowl game.) I'd like to see what they can really do.

What if it was your beloved Florida that has one loss, and they leapfrog them?

And they aren't proven anymore. They lost their last two bowls which were not BCS opponents. They lost 2 years ago to ECU and last year to TCU. The BCS bowl you are talking about was 3 years ago to Oklahoma (which is btw, their only bowl in the last 5 years). Do you know how many players are still on the Boise State team from that game? Very few. You know the turnover for college teams is massive, three years is an eternity in college years. Yes Boise State is likely to go undefeated, but they aren't even the best non-BCS team. TCU is.

TCU beat Boise last year and haven't lost to a team outside the top 10 since November of 2007!

This year TCU played: Clemson, Virginia, SMU and Texas State
Boise State played: Oregon, Miami (OH), UC Davis and Tulsa

TCU plays a harder schedule (conference with Utah and BYU helps a ton) and comparable non-con.

They are the better of the two schools. Adding that Boise and stumbled in bowl games, and you have a great reason why they aren't considered.

I was just giving an example and quite honestly, if they played Florida in a bowl game I would probably just want to see a good game. I don't prefer either team over the other (blasphemy to the other Gators fans, I know.) I started liking the Gators because of my boyfriend and I started liking Boise State because they were such an underdog. My former favorite college team had a lot of scandal regarding their recruiting methods and I stopped following them because of it, so I was looking for a new college team to follow and I happened to find two.

even the Goof wears orange and blue and does the CHOMP!

:lmao:

Last time we were at Liberty tree Tavern, my Dh had on his Alumni shirt and Minnie Mouse came rushing up doing the Gator Chomp and blowing kisses to him. My son had on a hat with Joe Haden's signature on it and she went over to him, took it off and "kissed" his forehead.

:lmao:

It was cute. We hear lots of "Go Gators!" anytime we have our Gator Gear on. You can tell the true fans from the ones who are just wearing it b/c it's the cool thing to do. Those that yelll "Go gators" back to you when you say it are true fans--- those that are not will look at you like you have two heads.

Funny stuff.

PS- my son has that baseball shirt too!:goodvibes

PS- my son has that baseball shirt too!:goodvibes

gosh I can't tell you the Gator stuff we have....
I just had our tailgate mates make me a serving set with orange and blue beads - which is gorgeous! Have the "heistman", "it's not like I shot the president shirt" "our Johnson is bigger than your weinke" both FSU ref's......sometimes ya gotta get 'em, you know they will be pulled quickly!!

my daughter has a run fundraiser at school, and for $25 you could put a personal message on it...she chose something re Tebow!!

It's crazy how much $$ you can spend on stuff-- and then justify it somehow.:lmao: (Well, at least we do.:rotfl:)

It's so bad in this house that my DD14 is known as the "Gator Girl" in her HS and there are right at 1000 Freshmen alone in that school.:lmao:

Last year we added up how much we spent on "stuff". Somewhere in the neighborhood of $700.:rolleyes1

Oh wait--- that didn't include the brick for Gator Walk.:rotfl2: Never mind. More than $700.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

yeah add a few drinks in while tailgaiting and then hitting the bookstores...YIKES! at least this weekend, we are away so will be lighter on the $$, just Publix Gator cupcakes and tailgate food!!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Three UT football players are now facing charges of armed robbery.

A member of the UT Sports Information Department confirmed to us that Nu'Keese Richardson, 18, Janzen Jackson, 18, and Michael Edwards, 18, were arrested 2:00 a.m. Thursday.

The incident happened at the Pilot convenience store on Cumberland Avenue.

Knoxville Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk says the three victims told officers that they were outside the Pilot waiting for a friend who was inside the store, when they were approached by three black men with a gun who demanded that they victims "give us everything you've got."

The victims told police that they didn't have any money to give the robbers, and the suspects then took off in a Toyota Prius, apparently driven by a woman.

Officers stopped the suspect vehicle on near Gibbs Hall on Lake Loudoun Blvd.

"A felony stop was conducted on the vehicle," DeBusk says in the news release. "Four subjects were detained from the vehicle...In plain view, officers observed two black hoodies in the back seat [sic]. Underneath the back seat towards the middle, officers located a black, CO2 powered pellet gun."

Investigators also found what appeared to be marijuana in a plastic baggie, in addition to a marijuana grinder. The female driver, Marie Montmarquet, 22, told officers the grinder were her's, DeBusk says. The apparent bag of marijuana was found in Montmarquet's jacket, DeBusk says.

Richardson, Edwards and Jackson were taken into custody, along with the woman.

The players are each charged with three counts of attempted armed robbery. Montmarquet is charged with three counts of attempted armed robbery, simple possession of scheduled VI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They're being held at the Knox County Jail. Jackson's bond is set at $15,000, Richardson's and Edaward's at $19,500 and Montmarquet's bond is set at $16,000.

UT Athletics Director Mike Hamilton released the following statement Thursday morning:

"At this time we are currently evaluating the circumstances surrounding an incident involving Mike Edwards, Janzen Jackson and Nu’Keese Richardson.

Any decisions or comments regarding their status will not be made until the evaluations are complete.”
