Flooded POTC boats

Personally I don't think there's any reason not to ride as long as you stay in the back half of the boat. This is from experience in November when it was really bad and the exit ramp soaked. If you like Pirates there's no reason to miss it.

It's really luck of the draw. I rode front row and didn't get wet at all and the boat had no water in it. This is from early January 2016.

Wife and I experienced the same during Halloween - except - during our ride, we hit bottom twice, very hard. There were 6 extremely large people, all over 6' and weighing well over 250 lbs each in the two front seats. As we approached the fall, the boat bottomed out, hit hard on what-ever was in the boats way and came to a complete stop. After about 45 minutes, cast members telling us to shift our weight to the left, than right, to dislodge (to no avail) we were escorted off, out the side exit. We ended up missing the special fireworks. I did file a complaint expressing our concern that when loading boats by cast members, "weight and moment" plays a role in safety and ride experience (28 years active USCG, I know a little about boating) I received a call within 48 hours from a cast member requesting my permission to forward my email the the MK operations manager and also an apology. It seems its Disney policy to request permission from the owner prior to forwarding. In any case, we missed the best part of the MNSSHP, no apology from any cast member - until the call. On our trip back for MVMCP, we noticed a difference in loading... we also asked to sit in the rear of the boat! Even with this "bad" experience, its still one of our favorites.

Just back. Fourth trip in four years. We manage to ride Pirates 4-5 times over each two plus week stay.

Not once have we ever gotten wet. Not once have we ever had water standing in our boat and I managed to look inside each boat coming and going while in line, none were wet.

I did get a water drop on my arm but that was it! Once!

Maybe the water levels are lower in January? I doubt it.

Boats were full and some 4 adults across, still none wet.
