Dry it out with large fans, if it's finished pull up the carpet & remove the drywall to the water line. Our washer, dryer, freezer & furnace motor bit the dust when we flooded. Good luck with the clean up.

As per FEMA, cut drywall 12 inches beyond the water line....
Spray germicide (anti bacterial) all over the basement to prevent mold growth. You can buy this at Home Depot or Lowes. They sell the sprayers there as well.
I'm currently dealing with this very thing as my sisters house got flooded.
I agree with al of the above , but you also need to have it sanitized either professional or yourself with a pressure washer. We did it our selves and we used this stuff called odo ban it smells lioke baby powder but kills everything there is to kill.
Also when your done make sure you run fans and dehumidifiers we have two of them runniong in her basement right now.
