Float and Tube rentals at Castaway Cay

You can use them at either. You can rent them at either too. I do not recommend renting it at the family beach & trying to pack it on the tram to the adult beach! They're big!

Oh, lying on a float at Serenity Bay.........:cloud9:

WAIT! Who's going to keep we from floating out to sea???!!!

Do they ever run out of floats/tubes? Is it a good idea to reserve one in advance or is that not necessary? :confused3

I floated pretty far out once...was dozing but thankfully woke up before I drifted out to sea from the adult beach!!

I've never seen them run out of either one. At the family beach there are two places you can pick them up, and they usually have piles of them at both places. I don't recall seeing how many they had at Serenity Bay, but I'm sure they have plenty. If you reserve the floats/tubes, I don't think you can specify where you want to pick them up. One thing that some folks don't know is that if you start out with one type, you can go back and trade it for the other type, at no charge.

They have plenty....I just had to take this pic....it looked so cool to see all of the floats and tubes!!!

DH and I bought the spring type floats several years ago and we always take them on the cruise. They're lightweight, fold up relatively small and easy to pack in their cases with the straps.

They are super easy to get on to and only the outer area needs to be inflated. People always ask where we got them. When we get back to the stateroom and after our showers, we open them in shower and give them a quick rinse and let them dry.

We've really gotten our money's worth.

Is there anywhere on castaway cat that they would inflate tubes or floats guests bring themselves?

Inflatable floats are not allowed on DCL ships or Castaway Cay.

From the DCL website:
Q.What items are prohibited on board the ship and on Castaway Cay?
A. In order to maintain a safe and secure environment for all Guests and crew, the following items are prohibited on board Disney Cruise Line ships. If found, the items listed, and anything similar, will be held in storage for the duration of the cruise. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

I know the previous poster said they bring their floats from home, but those are on the cruise lines prohibited items list. Due to this I don't think that they would inflate your personal floats for you.

We rented both at Serenity Bay. Note: the "floats" are super thing and flimsy. The tubes are great.
I "pre-ordered" online prior to the cruise and won't do that again. There are so many it's not a concern.
Plus, they are stacked up and thrown all over, they don't keep close track. We saw people walking up in the drop off area, grabbing whatever and using those.

My daughter's got away from her and floated/blew away to the other side of the ship. Good thing she wasn't in it!
