Flip Flops in the Parks

My DD is 15 also and wouldn't think of wearing anything but flip flops - it is actually about 28 degrees here today and I caught her trying to sneak out of the house for school this morning with you guessed it - FLIP FLOPS on!!! when will they learn!!!

That's all my daughter wore on our last trip to the world and we were there 11days. She never complained once. But I also have to say make sure she has wore this pair for a while. My daughters soles were so thin it was like walking barefoot. Gina

:cheer2: I don't know much about the flip flop thing. I just wanted to wish her team good luck :cheer2: My DD(16) is also a cheerleader for her high school. So, GOOD LUCK TO THEM :goodvibes

Just wore Flipflops to MK this Jan. They were great, especially since it was raining. Had I wore socks and sneaks I would've been miserable. DD and DS had sandals on too so they did not complain about being wet. :umbrella:

My suggestion (since I too HATE most flip flops) DO NOT get the ones made of plastic! I had the JCrews made with ribbon and fabric. Much more comfy. One bad part, my footbed had turned the color of the inside (navy blue) by the end of the day - looked really gross and I actually had to scrub it off.

No problems on any rides either. Although had I done something like Soarin I probably would've held them in my lap during the ride! HTH!

I wore flip flops the last 2 trips. I tried wearing tennis shoes, but after a day I started getting blisters and my arches were killing me. So I decided to wear flip flops and I was so comfortable in them.

I went everywhere in them and I'm doing it again for our next trip.

I think "they've" (whoever they are) have redesigned flip flops. I remember the thingy bugging my toes like crazy in the 70's. Now I love them. My kids think they are great. I go around and around with my DD's middle school princpal about flip flops being banned in school. He says they've had to many "flip flop related accidents". Whatever that means  I work at a high school and kids wear them all the time. When your 15 fashion is all that matters. She'll be fine. :cheer2:

I just wanted to let everyone know that my daughter's cheerleading squad placed second at her competition! She was so excited. And she did wear flip flops and it worked out fine. Thank you for all your input and good wishes. :cheer2:

I'm glad your daughter had no problems wearing flip flops at the parks. Congrats to her on her cheerleading! I was on dance team in high school--those competitions are awesome!
Be careful to anyone else wearing flip flops to the parks and climbing on and off the rides. When I was about 11, I rode the Matterhorn at DL, and my flip flop fell underneath the ride when I was climbing out of the bobsled. The ride operators had to stop the ride and climb underneath the cars to retrieve my shoe! It was a little embarassing at that age!

I love flip flops as well, but swear by my Adidas soccer sandals for the parks because wearing flip flops for too long give me blisters where the plastic rubs against my big toe.

I always wear flip flops or sandels. Tennis shoes make my feet really hot and even if I wear the tennis shoes I usually wear they hurt my feet by the end of the day. I've never had a problem with flip flops or sandels.

I wore Teva flip-flops for a marathon day in MK in October. We arrived at opening, played all day, attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party, and got on the monorail to leave at nearly 1 am. My feet (though tired) felt great! I'll be packing my Teva's when we go back in June! I had no problems at all! :earsgirl:

:cheer2: Very good for them, Glad to here it.

I love my Reef flip flops and wear them in the parks all of the time. I wore them all 9 days on our trip that we just returned from, even in the rain! Reef flip flops are so comfortable, they cost a bit more but are so worth it.
