flip flops in the park

I could never imagine wearing anything other than sneakers at WDW, because those are comfortable to me. But since it seems like everyone else says flip flops are comfortable, I say go for it.

I wear them in the parks. Since they do offer a little less support, they can make your feet a little more tired at the end of the day. I find that switching off, sneakers one day, flip-flops the next works out quite well.

I agree. That's how I did it at Thanksgiving. Worked out well. It's all in what you're used to wearing. I say go for it if you're comfortable. Have a good time, your at Disney what else could you possibly want!

My Skechers flip flops are more comfortable than my sneakers. I wouldn't wear cheap flip flops though.

I would only wear tennis shoes for many years at WDW and would only let me daughter wear them as well even though she begged me to wear her flip flops. My mom always told me to wear socks and tennis shoes if you were walking a lot so I listened. Well, one year in the middle of my trip I injured my toe and there was no way I could put my toe in a something that was going to be closed so I bought a pair of flip flops there. The flip flops were so comfortable that I now wear them all the time in the parks and I also allow my daughter to! My feet were never sore!

I live in flip flops in the summer months. I wear the Havaianas. I made the MISTAKE of wearing them to the parks two weeks ago. OH MY! I had huge blisters between my toes and on the tops of my foot. I am a really fast paced walker (I am from NY go figure), so maybe thats why they bothered me. I guess it depends on the person. I will never make the mistake of wearing flip flops to the parks again!

I personally prefer sneakers as I find them more comfortable to walk around in for 12 hours! But I did use a pair of flip flops in the parks (not my Old Navy cheapies) that were supportive. I got them at Land's End or LL Bean and they were made to be supportive like a sneaker.

What did filp flops do to me? Ill tell you. I think its freakin hilarious watching young (and not so young) girls limping around carring thier flip flops during a day at the park. You walk an average of 10 miles a day at a disney theme park. Would anyone sane go on a ten mile walk with flip flops.

Tell me you dont see them carring thier FF because thier feet hurt. Rubbing thier dirty disgusting feet every where. Taking thier feet out of thier FF when seated and rubbing thier feet all over (Expecially gross in resturants)

Call me a jerk if you want but I think FF are another example of the lengths women will go through to be trendy. Where FF to the beach or the pool not to the California Grill or the prom.

Well I just got back from 10 days at WDW and for most of those days I wore flip flops and not once did I carry them around and walk barefoot If you don't like the way flip flips look than don't look at other people's feet!

I wear them all the time at home so they are the most comfortable thing for me. I wore tennis shoes maybe twice, but I like my feet to be able to breathe. Sneakers always give me blisters on my heels so flip flops eliminate that problem.

I'm not exactly sure who you are talking about but don't assume that everyone has dirty disgusting feet & that everyone has issues with flip flops like you apparently do......

How is kids wearing flip flops a liability problem for the schools??? If a kid ended up with frost bite or something, I can see where the parents might be liable or (depending on the kid's age) the kid's might be liable, but the school???? I couldn't imagine where they would be liable unless they required the students to wear flip flops.
Personally, there are many fads that I don't understand - the saggy, baggy pants, wearing pj's in public etc... but all I need to do is glance at an old high school photo of mine where I'm wearing yellow & black plaid, hip hugger, bell bottom pants and all the sudden flip flops as dress wear doesn't seem so bad after all

Actually, I wear mine all the time because I hate shoes. As soon as I get home from anywhere, my socks and shoes come off.

I dont think I could wear my flipflops to Disney but as soon as I get home on Saturday (from college) I am going to look for some Nile Crocs or a good pair of Tevas.

Maybe if you lived down south (or anywhere that they AREN'T "trendy") you would realize what a stample they are. Flip flops are to Florida as Buffalos (?) are to New York. Sorry, I couldn't think of anything else!

i wore running shoes last year and my feet were killing me, i could barely keep up with the rest of the family, I'm going to disney in 2 weeks and i don't know what kind of shoes to wear this time. those teva mush flip flops sound good. is there an online store that carries them? thanks.

I took the advice of many DIS'ers and bought the Teva Mushs. I love, love, love them. I thought flip flops were comfortable before but they pale in comparison to the Mushs.

I did walk around all day in a crowded high school hallway with flip flops on today (and everyday for the past 3 weeks) and not once have they been stepped on or fallen off. No one has even stepped on my foot...and trust me. My schools halls are more crowded that WDW.

I have worn my Teva flip flops without any problem. They have the strap between the toes, and also a couple of other thin straps for support, plus are very cushy. They come in a variety of colors. I have black and then a blue multi.
