Is there a list somewhere of rides at DW you can safely ride with flip-flops? :cool1:

All the rides have totally enclosed seating with floors, so there is no where that you would have to remove your flipflops to ride. Flipflops are not the best theme park footwear however- you will be doing A LOT of walking.

I don't know when you're heading down, but when Soarin' opens at The Land, flip-flops may be trouble. The ride mechanism is kind of like a suspended roller coaster. Your feet dangle. Other than that, you should be okay.

I wear flip flops to the parks all the time. I find them more comfortable than my several types of Reeboks. No problems on any rides.

I wear Teva flip flops the whole time when we go to WDW in the Summer or in the warmer months and have had no problems. My feet really swell in the heat and tennis shoes get snug and hot. I tried regular flip flops and they don't cut it the way the Teva's do-and trust me when I tell you I own tons of flip flops. The Teva's have the rubber shock absorbing soles and the stretchy bands-my favorite pair cost just $16! I have even converted my husband with these and he HATES sandals.

When we go in cooler months I wear tennis shoes with really good sports socks. However, I still bring my Teva's as a back up!

If you are going to DL and are riding Soarin', just take off your flip flops and put them in the net bag with your other stuff!

Have Fun!!! :cheer2:

Teva "mush" flip flops? I love them too!

Yeah, I foresee Soarin' to be the only problem at WDW when it opens...

I am so glad to see you say that, because we are going in May, and I had been thinking about getting the Teva flip flops for our trip. I hate wearing socks and tennis shoes in hot weather, and the Tevas looked nice, but I was wondering how comfortable they would be. Thanks for posting that!

Flip flops are not advisable on moving walkways or escalators. Rides that come to mind are Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain.

Look into Keen's new flip-flops. They have a toe guard built in (cause you WILL stub your toe on something!), they mold to your feet, and are super -comfy. They are also water-friendly.

REI carries them, I think. I have the Mary Janes, and my feet NEVER hurt.

I wont leave home without my Birkenstocks. They fit great and I have never had a problem with them (I might even be that geeky woman you see during the cooler months with socks and sandals on instead of tennis shoes!) Nothing would make a trip go south quicker than sore feet! well...not much else. :earsgirl:
