Flight Recommendations to California

At the moment not all flight companies have prices for the dates we need - 30th July - 13th August 2011. Only 2 more days to wait :rolleyes1
Looked at booking a package with Virgin, but only offering 3 hotels in Anaheim. We've had our eye on the Hyatt Regency Orange County of the 3 and this afternoon we could no longer book a suite at a reasonable price - can only book 2 standard rooms now. :scared1:
Its not really the hotel we want - ideally we'd like the Staybridge suites due to free parking, free internet access and breakfast included.
Anyone recommend any particular flight companies and/or hotels in that area.
Looks like we'll have to book everything ourselves again as Virgin's choices now are crap (to be blunt!!) :headache:

We used AA from Manchester. Its easier for us to go indirect from MAN than direct from London.
Other time we went we used Virgin from London but thats a nightmare driving home after a 10+ hour flight

I would just use whoever has the best offer on but no deals there yet.
VA seem to be about best just now £747(indirect £711) or if you can come home a day later and have 2,000pp they have Miles and Money at £651

Hotel, both times we stayed at the Howard Johnson, 10 min walk to the gate, free internet but no breakfast, we paid about £30-35/night but its gone up last couple of years.

We flew with United to LAX going via Heathrow from Glasgow. Can't complain about the flights, although we did get delayed on the tarmac at Heathrow for around an hour but nothing you can do about that!

Can't really help with hotels as we didn't stay in Anaheim I'm afraid.

There are quite a few hotels right outside the gate to disney, the last time we were there we stayed at park vue hotel which is literally across the road from the disney entrance. It's just a motel so nothing special, it had free parking and ihop is practically in the car park, dennys and tony romas are next door.
We have also stayed at Best western a few years ago and that is next door to the park vue, this is also a good hotel.
We got a pretty cheap rate at both hotels and would stay at either again.

At the park vue they don't have prices for July yet but in may it's approx $135 + tax a night for a 2 bed suite.

I booked my Anaheim hotel direct with the hotel, as - you're right - Virgin's choice is pants! I booked the fly-drive part with Virgin Hols and just booked the hotels myself.

We booked Park Vue in Anaheim as that hotel released its prices first, and comes with free parking and breakfast and is within a 10 minute walk of the parks. However I would have also considered the Candy Cane Inn and Howard Johnson, as both are also within a ten minute walk (Candy Cane Inn also has free breakfast and parking as well).

All three get equally OK reviews on Trip Advisor and on the California section of the Dis.

I'm planning on staying at the HoJo and have got an entertainment card off eBay so I can get a discount of at least 15% hopefully 50%.

Last time we went, we flew with United Airlines from Heathrow and had no complaints.

We also booked our hotel separately - stayed at the Candy Cane Inn, which is no more than a five minute walk from the parks and is absolutely gorgeous. I believe it's independent - you have to book direct with them as it doesn't appear in any brochures. Free parking, pool (albeit a tiny one) and hottub, plus free breakfast buffet.
