We are planning just a 4 night trip in October during my daughters college break and I do plan to try for a FP for FOP ,but we planning AK for our second day and not sure if we will have any luck getting one.:cloud9:

If not just wondering if stand by would be that bad this Fall if we got there right at opening and went straight there. I have already made sure it is not EMH the day we are going.

Just trying to plan our strategy.....:scared:

We just have to ride it!

How has the stand by been now first thing in the am or how about late evening??

Thanks for your help!

Standby for FoP at Park Open is easy-the key is to get to the Tapstiles EARLY to be ahead of most of the Rope Droppers.:)

Ok so they open at 9am that day and we are actually staying at AKV. So I was thinking of being on the bus by 8am?? Good or do you think earlier than that??:simba:

Personally,I would be on the bus at 7:45 AM-they will "probably" open the tapstiles by 8:40 AM and then hold Guests at Tree of Life for a few minutes before going on into Pandora-you want to be sure to be close to the front of the "Rope Drop Line".:)

I would rather stand in line waiting for the Park to open rather that stand in line at FoP and waste"Park time".:)

Yes I agree! I will make sure we get to bed early so we are up and out of there and on the bus by 7:45am.....We will be close since we are at AKV. We can grab breakfast after we are done with Pandora.

FOP is a must for us as well, our new favorite ride!

I would get a FP+ if at all possible and then hit at RP as the above posters stated.

Going in October as well, still believe the crowds will be just about as big as they are now. We're planning to do all 4 parks in one day though, so we'll be there early.

Not early enough. Getting through bag check will be crowded. A woman just reported in the Pandora thread that on their 9 AM opening day, they were let in through the turnstiles at 8:20 AM.

I am gonna try my best to get a FP, but we will get up earlier and be at the bus stop and ready to go by 7:30 if we have too...We can do it! We can sleep later!!!:cloud9:

After you ride FoP and see the line that has formed, you will find the getting up early to be TOTALLY worth it!

Also, there is a sense of excitement being in the "Rope Drop Line" and being in the group walking over to FoP to start the day!:)

I agree and we get in early on Saturday and don't really have anything planned except and early dinner at Disney Springs so we can turn in early and be ready for rope drop...:earsgirl::earsgirl:

Summer being over won't lessen the rope drop crowd for FoP. It'll be the same then as it is now. Best piece of advice for riding with a short wait is to be AT the AK entrance 60-90 min prior to park opening. Not getting up then or entering the parking lot, but being at the gate to beat the crowd

Ok great then if we arrive at AK between 7:30 and 8am we will be there in time. They open at 9am that day and we are at AKL so will try and be on the bus by 7:30 and then we will be there quick. I am sure it will still be crazy!! I remember Frozen at rope drop last November and we still waited an hour.....It was EMH and I said never again will I do that:crazy:
