Flames anyone?

Oh yes I've been flamed.

I was flamed by a mother because I (as well as others) dared asked her not to tell childless women how they should feel about their situation (she said she understood, but basically implied we should "suck it up"...I pointed out her username indicated she was a mother and therefore couldn't completely understand our situations). I'll spare you all the details, but not only did she flame me, but she made herself out to be the victim as well. It's not the first or last time I've seen completely unpleasant posts from this person.

I was also cursed out at ("cleverly" disguised with various symbols to make up for vowels) because I dared say that if one hasn't paid for and attended a hard ticket event at WDW, then perhaps they wouldn't understand why some attendees would feel upset about people trying to break the rules and stay for the event for free. Even people who didn't necessarily agree with me were so put off by the person's post. The post was quickly reported by multiple people and deleted.

I've disagreed with people on various topics and had a couple minor flames that were just laughable, but these were the two are probably the ones that were so ridiculous that they deserve some mention.

I got flamed when I told a mother to have a great summer after she posted her plans.
I said I was envious but couldn't do those things because I worked.
I thought nothing of it until someone pm'd later to say she thought I was insulting her or something.

Two days after katrina, I had my best friend come on here and post an update on how i fared. It was a standard form post that she copied and pasted on several forums. Oh horrors of horrors, it had my (gasp) phone number on it. My other boards used my numbers to try to call and make sure i was okay. I received nothing but support and concern from the other forums. Those people are friends that I was able to count on. Real people. Here on the dis, I got lectured, tattled on and edited for breaking the rules. So I updated later and was mad and said so. I then got lectured again for breaking the rules and having a bad attutide. After about a month, i calmed down and was able to put this board in perspective. Now it's just a place to post once in a while. I rarely post anything important enough to flame and if i do happen to get flamed, I guess i don't care anymore. It's just the Dis.

i must admit all my posts come from me being an insomniac and from FABULOUS 4hour naps! BUT i must also complain now b/c i am pregnant again and sooo tired that my late night posting has come to a HALT and i don't know what i will do! hahaha!!

I've never been flamed, but I think the worst flaming I've seen was on a thread back when I was still a newbie. It was the taking-your-son-into-the-ladies-room thread (I'm not sure if it got closed or poofed).

I'm so glad you asked! Apparently if you use this you're waiting for trouble to break out and that's just "mean" according to one newbie who then noticed my user name and told me that I should be ashamed of myself as a mother for being so insensitive. So in short, I'm a bad mother for eating popcorn.

Ironically, it was my first and last time to use that smilie... until now for emphasis of course.

I got really flamed once a year or so ago on the budget board. I was still kinda new and didn't know what I was walking in to! Someone asked for opinions on something (using someone else's Fl ID to get Disney tix or something similar) and I posted that I wouldn't do it because I was afraid of getting caught and that it wasn't quite right to do that anyway (last time I get on my high horse!). Probably wasn't too nice about (yeah, I was scandalized that someone would do that) and -- WOW! -- the OP let me have it. If I remember right, some other posters came to my defense. I think I've blocked it out since then and I have never ever posted my opinion on those type of topics again! Ouch!

I am pretty blunt and too the point on what I feel, so I am a master at getting flamed! There has even been at least one thread that was pretty much devoted to flaming me, and I think the fire may have even spread outside of the DIS. Ah, the benefits of the Community Board.

Fun thread!

Back when there was a Debate Board I posted about telling someone else's child to quit doing what they were doing, and was I wrong (two 10-11yr old girls rearranging stuff at Target, just being silly, but creating a mess for the employees to clean up... I very simply told them to cut it out. The mother tracked me down about 15 mins and reamed me a new one). Wow, I caught all kinds of grief for interfering with someone else's kid. Funny thing, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I've probably been flamed when posting on some of the Christian threads. Can't remember anything specific, though.
