I'm trying to decide lunch at AK. It's between Flame Tree and Yak Yeti local foods, which would you recommend?

Anyone tried the Mandarian Chicken Salad at Yak & yeti local foods? How about the Turkey Sandwich at Flame Tree?

We've been to both and both are pretty good. But honestly, the yummiest thing is the chicken fried rice from Yak & Yeti's CS (I think called Amandapour something???)....and best yet, it is only a snack credit if you are on DDP!!

It's soooo good!!!

We'll have to give the chicken fried rice a try. Thanks.

Anyone else have recommendations? Has anyone visited recently? Thanks.

Been to both places many times and I'd have to vote Flame Tree for best food. :thumbsup2 It is a must have CS for us every trip! :goodvibes

We like both places - typically DD and I will pick up something to share from Yak and Yeti and DH will get ribs from Flametree and we'll meet in one of the locations and all eat together (we tend to share bits of everything with each other).

We have only been to flame tree but love it and have to go at least a couple of times each trip. We have tried several things there and have loved them all!

Loved Flame Tree! Food was great and if you all the way to the back of the eating area behind Flame Tree you can eat in a quieter spot with shade and a great view across the water at Everest!

We've been to both and the Yak & Yeti cs is good. The Flame Tree has awesome ribs and chicken, comes with baked beans and cole slaw. It's an awesome cs lunch if you are on the dining plan.

Yak 'n Yeti is one of the worst CS IMO. Kind of like bad mall Chinese food. If you have decent Chinese food by you, this is a waste of your time. Flame Tree is not the best bbq in the universe, but it's pretty good:) I'd definitely choose that over Yak 'n Yeti CS. Now, the Yak 'n Yeti TS is a whole other ballgame;)

I've had the Yak Yeti chicken salad and was underwhelmed. McDonalds has a better CS salad.

Everyone in our group prefers Flame Tree.

I agree. Definitely Flame Tree for CS and Y&Y for TS.

Although I love Yak N' Yeti TS I thought that the CS was the worst food I'v eaten at WDW - and I'm pretty easy to please. We like Flame Tree and usually get the ribs/chicken. Would eat there if I had a choice.

I was hoping that the Yak & Yeti CS would give us a taste of the TS restaurant. I'm disappointed to hear the quality is not good at the CS. Too bad we don't have time for a TS this trip, otherwise we would give the TS a try.

Yak & Yeti CS is my and my DH's favorite CS in the World! We love it! We usually get the chicken fried rice to split and then each get an entree- sweet and sour chicken or beef lo mein. We really enjoy it.

I will tell off on myself about the smoked turkey sandwich at Flame Tree BBQ. Feb '12 I got it and it was so so good! Each half was as large as a regular sandwich so I ate half, the honeydew slice that comes with it, and my dessert. I didn't want to stuff myself, so I saved the other half for later in a plastic bag I had in my purse. A little later when we were on the Safari and sitting near the back, that yummy sandwich starting calling my name. Well, I couldn't resist stealthily munching on it during the ride! If anyone noticed they never said anything. Even my own family was watching animals and taking pictures.

I never had either, but was wondering the same question. I am more leaning towards Flame Tree. Only question is will they let you sub the baked beans and coleslaw for fries?

I grab a glass of wine at Flame Tree and head down to this seating area also:thumbsup2 Quite and great view of Everest...it's one of my favorite spots at disney

We are Yak and Yetti fans. Its good, and something other than burgers and fries
