I got a PM from RloveW early this am... about 5:30 or so..as Fay was making her hit on shore... south of Ft. Myers... she is north of that a ways...

I haven't heard from Dyan or seen her on today.. but the news-press.com (Ft. Myers paper) is showing that her area is getting hit as well... not as bad as the area around Ft. Myers right now.. They seems to be getting a good soaking..

We haven't heard from DH's grandparents yet..but they were riding it out at home... Rebecca said it was losing it's punch as it came ashore..

Just wanted all our FLA girls to let us know you are okay!!!

Dyan is East of me- further toward the coast so I am guessing she should be fine- we have actually seen little rain even here. The storm is much further East and South of where they expected it to hit. It should be disturbing Orlando's weather by this evening. Counties inland from me are under tornado warnings (the ones I have seen under them are just Southwest of Orlando (but that has to do with my viewing area).

Sorry I haven't checked in. It's been horrible around here and it has nothing to do with TS Fay. My DS, who is supposed to start 8th grade, got lice! I itch just typing it! So while I was supposed to worry about the weather, i have been doing laundry and picking nits!

Ew, Dyan, poor you and your DS. Good luck with that!!!!

I'm in the northern part of the state right at the curve of the panhandle so Fay isn't bothering us. Unless she turns to the west while she heads up through the state, we shouldn't get more than some rain.

oh dyan that is just plain icky!!!!!!! i remember my nieces having that. it was just terrible. they both have (or should i say had) long, long hair. that was probably 20 years ago. so sorry to hear this!

You have nothing to worry about. All we had was a lot of wind and rain. No damage reported.

Lisa takes off tomorrow AM and I leave Thursday. Lisa will call me and I will text or call Nancy when we arrive at WDW.

Dyan, bag everything up, pillows, stuffed animals, baseball hats, etc into garbage bags for 2 weeks! Make sure you label them too so they don't get tossed by accident.
I hate those things. Poor kid, shave his head, it will make your life a whole lot easier. And check DD and yourself too. vacuum the couches, chairs, anything with upholstery.

Lisa shouldn't have a problem tomorrow morning- the storm hasn't been that strong in the area yet and is moving away (well stalled and then moving away). Thursday will depend on which turn it takes when it gets back out to sea and supposedly starts getting stronger. If you can't get to Orlando on Thursday but they will let you change to Tampa call me and I can get you from there and we can get over to Disney.

I talked to my mother this morning and she said the same thing. She lost a few tree limbs, but no other damage.
