FLA Resident tickets Questions

My family will be at WDW over Thanksgiving. We'd like to buy my brother, who is a FLA resident, a 1 day hopper pass so that he can enjoy a day with us. We are park hppong AP holders. I'm not finding that as an option thru FLA resident rate discounted prices. Am I missing something? The closest thing I found was a 3-day play pass.

Are there any FLA residents that can direct me as to what the best pass is that we could purchase for him...or give him money to purchase? Where is the best place to buy a FLA resident discounted ticket?

He's never been to WDW and has only lived there a couple years, but has a bad Disney attitude. We'd like to turn that attidtude around.

The regular magic your way passes are the same price for every one. The discount begins when you buy the play 3 pass, or florida seasonal passes. Although if I'm not mistaken, you can purchase a MYW ticket with a few dollar discount using your Pass. If not, your only other discount would be through AAA.

I think your best bet will be to give him the money to buy the pass himself, since he'll have to prove he's a FL resident in order to make the purchase. There's a control on the Disney website, which won't let you buy the FL Res pass and have it shipped to another state. When you buy it online, you get a voucher in the mail, which has to be taken to the guest services windows at the parks, or can also be exchanged at the guest services booths (there are two) at Downtown Disney. At that time, the resident has to show ID which proves where they live. I remember trying to buy APs for my brother's family through the Disney website for Disneyland, and finally giving up. They are California residents, and I'm not, so it was impossible! Good luck! What a nice sister you are!

Just go to the WDW website and click on Florida residents. Then enter his zip code (or mine;33062) and it will show you all available options. 1 day hopper
is about $59.95 for residents if I remenber correctly.

FL Residents can get a one day pass (base, no hopping)for 10% off reg price or get a one day hopper for 59.75 +tax (Which technically is a $35.00 savings for the new MYW pass set up)

For more days you can get a 3 day (no hopping) for $119 + tax.

Do you know if I can have it shipped to my home. I know this sounds silly, but my 38 year old brother is irresponsible. He would likely spend the money in a place I wouldn't approve of or simply lose the ticket voucher. Either way I need to keep it in my possesion until it's ready to be used. He does have a FLA driver's liscense.

We bought our FL resident passes at the TTC. Just make sure he has his FL id with him.

I don't think they will mail it to you. Just buy it at the gate (guest services) of the first park you are going to visit. He can show his FL ID then, so if he decides NOT TO GO, you won't be out any money.

I am going @ the end of this month and will buy my resident passes this way.

Since you have APs, do you know that you can do the DDE?
Disney Dining Experience... This might save you $$$ on food.
It is $ 50 per year and allows you a 20% discount at most places.

You should be able to have the FL voucher sent to you..it would then be exchanged for the actual ticket when he shows his FL id. If that doesn't work, you can set it up for will call and again he just shows his FL id to get the actual ticket. They will give you a ticket order and then you won't have to worry about them sending anything to you in advance.

You can just purchase the ticket at any park guest services or at the guest services at the resort. That is what we do. The first time I bought my own tickets I bought my 4 day FL Resident pass (last year) at the Disney Store but still had to turn it into a real ticket when I got there. And since you said you don't "trust" that your brother would actually use the $ to buy the ticket then the best thing is to buy it when he gets there - he will have his FL ID.

As a side note my DH was a non-Disney person prior to me bringing him there for the first time as an adult (in May) and now it will be his third time this year in Dec!! So you never know your brother may end up really liking Disney!!

They do not require ID for children that are not old enough to have driver's licenses. I know this because my kids always take friends (Who are also FL residents) and they do not require any type of ID for them.
