FL. Residents-Let's Post our rates/dates!

I was able to also book a Florida resident rate but do have a question, maybe someone could answer? I booked via telephone, my reservations do have a 5 day cancellation *but* it is also stating that I need to pay my balance in full 21 days prior to check-in :worried: It's never stated that before for a room-only reservation--I remember the old Disney Travel Co..used to do that. Is that the policy now?

I just made my room only reservation over the phone last week. I was told the deposit was due then and the balance was due at check-in. I didn't actually ask about the cancellation policy. I just assumed it was the same as it has always been - 5 days.

I just booked over the phone for FL res on POR- for standard view Dec 3-5. At a rate of $99 per day. Really wanted WL but not avail so may still switch to Dolphin for a nicer room. Waiting to see if i win a contest at work since it would be $50 more a day!

Any thoughts on which would be better decorated?

Also told that 1st nite was my deposit and 2nd nite would be due at check out- cancellation policy is 5 days(which was why I made the ressie over the phone!)

Thanks to everyone who responded. I did find out through the Florida DMV that since I am a part time resident I could obtain a FL drivers license "Valid in Florida only". So, I do have that option. My AAA rate at the GF was better than the FL residency, but I'll keep checking.

Call Disney & double check with them. That stipulation of "valid in Florida only" I think shows you really aren't a resident. I could be wrong, but I do remember seeing something about that somewhere. That type of license may not be acceptable proof. I would hate to see you get there & they take a good look at it & refuse it. Better safe than sorry.

The "Valid in Florida only" license is just fine.

We own a house in MA and one in Deltona.

That is what all of my family have and we have used it to purchase FL resident AP's and get the FL resident room rate. I have always had to present my FL license to prove I was eligible for the discounts and have never had a problem with it. Some people live in FL for 6-8 months a year and some live 2-3 months a year. Some are like me, DS lives there while in school and I visit for a week every 4-6 weeks.

Got Fl Res rate of $126 a night, standard view...at POR. This total includes taxes and whatever other charges they apply. Does that sound right to you? I see a previous poster (leight) said they got POR for $99 a night. I am just wondering with all added charges if it will total $126...or did I get gypped??? LOL!

Moderates are 99.00 a night during value season and 114.00 during regular season. Value season ends October 4th so if your stay is after Oct. 4th then your price sounds right for regular season..
