My DH is a FL resident, but I am not. He's active duty military. Therefore, he doesn't have the change his residency each time we move to a new location. I do have to change my residency. We've been thinking of getting him a FL annual pass because we do go often. My question is would we be able to purchase our child a FL annual pass as well since DH is a FL resident. I'm just not sure how all this works. Same thing for Universal. Could we purchase DH and DS a FL pass? I wish we could do the military discounted tickets, but we won't be able to make our first trip of the year until November. If we can purchase DS a FL pass no big deal. I was just curious as to how that worked.

1) Children under-18 do not need Florida ID.
2) But, THE PURCHASER OF THE TICKET/PASS must be a Florida resident.
3) So, in your case, hubby can buy the kids Florida discount passes/tickets.

In addition to his Miulitary ID card he will have to present proof that he is stationed at a base in Florida to get the Florida Resident rate. And look to stopping at SoG to get the tickets, there is a savings of about 8% as well as Sales Tax is not charged.

He has a FL driver's license. Will he still need proof of where he's stationed?

If he has a FL driver's license, then that's all he needs to purchase FL resident tickets for him and your child.

We have property in FL and get FL APs. I have bothered to get a FL ID, DH has not.

They have (so far) allowed DH to get a FL pass along with me. We always are prepared to get him an out of state pass, but they haven't said anything in the 3 years we have done it.

I'm not sure when you are going but congress recently changed the law regarding military spouse's residency. Not sure when it kicks in but you should be able to claim and retain the same state of residency as your husband no matter where you are stationed. This will be such a blessing to military spouses. You might want to check in to that.

I haven't heard that! That will be a blessing. No more getting a new driver's license or car tags every 2-4 years. Thank you for the heads up.
