Five Guys Hamburgers.

One opened about 5 minutes from me this summer (Gatlinburg area, in case anyone's visiting, add 5 Guys to your list!) - we've been good, only been once.

About their "misleading" advertising - although their burger is called "little" they do tell you it is anything but, same for their fries. We ordered "little" and "small" the first time we ate there, because they (I don't remember if it was the staff or if there were signs) told us they weren't little or small.

Okay so here's what I do when we're going there - we keep condiment packets in our refrigerator - I bring Chick Fil A ranch to use for my fries! :rotfl:

Yummy burger, yummy fries, and great sweet tea!

They opened one up close by a few years ago, tried it twice. Fries were good, burgers were not good, too sloppy. I think Checkers makes a better burger. I don't see the need for the large amt of fries that they serve.
I think that their burgers are great. Checkers' burgers are good, but they are good in a fast food burger kind of way, not in a really good burger kind of way.

Five guys does give you tons of fries. My wife and I typically will split an order between the two of us.

I thought the burgers were ok, but I loved the hot dog I had last week. A bacon cheddar dog with grilled onions and mustard. MMMMMMM!!!!!

I LOVE hotdogs. mustard, relish and onions.

After seeing this thread, I went to a nearby Five Guys for the first time a couple nights ago with my sister and BIL. We all had burgers (YUM) and we split a regular order of fries, which was plenty of fries for the 3 of us. I thought my burger was great, while I thought the fries were good but not great.

Will definitely go back sometime soon for another hamburger. :)

Fries are cooked in peanut oil - so it is a no go for my family with DS's peanut allergy. Many hamburger places are like that.

I don't think I mentioned this earlier, but the Fuddruckers we always went to (in Winston Salem) closed down. I'm very sad about this. Their topping bar was the bomb! They had this pico de gallo topping that was soooo good. And being able to put cheese on your fries? OMG

I'm so hungry now. LOL And I just had Chic Fil A from the football game. (We just got a Chic Fil A about 20 miles from here and they started selling their chicken sandwiches at our high schools football games. Rumor is they are testing to see how well they sell to see if we are worthy of one in our town. I hope so!!

We are too small to have a Fuddruckers or Five Guys. :guilty:

I do want to try Red Robin one day.

Don't waste your time or money on Red Robin, they are very expensive for what they offer and it was horrible.

I am not crazy about Fuddruckers, but will eat there occassionally for DH and I can get a kids meal.

I really want to try Five Guys, heard it is fabulous, but thought it was something local, I guess next time we go to Atlanta, we will have to stop in a try it. DH is a burger/fries guy 100%

I never heard of Five Guys. I just did a search and found out the closest one is 1.8 miles away (and others are in the area, too). Gotta try them - thanks for the heads up!

I should have googled earlier, we have 56 with in a 200 mile radius and the closest is only 30 miles away, not bad.

Us too. I have a 5 Guys, just blocks from my house and we can't go. I won't even go when DD isn't around. I just can't risk it. I think they have peanut shells on the floor to and I'd hate to bring any remnants home with me.

Too bad, cuz I'm a burger freak.

Since I was out running some errands. Thought I grab a burger and fries to go.
This is a little bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, pickles, ketchup and mayo. This is a regular sized fry.

I hate Five Guys :( I don't do red meat and I hate hot dogs. I wish they had some sort of chicken, because I would go there for the Cajun fries which are sooo good!

All this talk about the place got in my head. So of course, it has been gnawing at me - try it, try it, try it. We went there tonight for dinner.

I was surprised by the place. It was nearly empty at 5pm. To be fair, there are quite a few eateries in the plaza.

We each got the small bacon cheeseburger and split the fries. To go! Both of us enjoyed the fries very much. The burgers were good, but hardly what I would call the best, which is both good and bad. Good, because if they were really good I would soon be a regular, and I can not afford to do that. Bad, because I was so looking forward to having a really yummy burger.

I felt like Marshall on the episode of How I Met Your Mother when he was searching for his lost burger. Good but not great.

Thanks to all of you for introducing me to Five Guys.

DD has a peanut allergy and she's had their fries before. Must be highly refined peanut oil - which seems to be fine for (most?) people allergic.

As for the shells, we make sure to eat outside.

I love it that we have a Five Guys in our area now. Every since we tried it in DC we've been in love. Even though I can make a good burger (such as tonights), I'm lazy when it comes to the fresh toppings.

Whoa! Thanks Dawn!

I had never heard of Five Guys, but dh and I just got back from the one that is 1.8 miles away. The hamburger was fantastic.

And from looking at the map on the website, they are all over in Florida. How come I never heard of them!?

Ok, after church today DF and I went to five guys for lunch. He and I split a cajun fry...which OMG are totally delicious and HUGE!!!! I couldn't even eat half...maybe a 1/3. I got the little cheeseburger and DF the regular and he couldnt finish it. Now it feels like a huge cement block in my tummy. Time for a nice long walk.

I do have to say, It think the burgers are better at In-N-Out and the fries are better at Five Guys.

I completely disagree with the Poster who replied to you at the top of the page! Red Robin is DELICIOUS and so is Fuddrucker's! They DO cost more than 5 Guys, but I think you get what you pay for. I'd rather go to Red Robin or Fuddrucker's and get what I consider to be a quality product.

Our closest one is an hour away, right beside The Christmas Tree Shoppe...thank goodness!

Ours has no peanut shells on the floor.
