AS always, we have a full breakfast each day. Turns out the couple we went with like that also. So Uncleromulus led the troops to many off his favorite spots. All in all, it was generally thumbs-up.
A summary:
Kona Cafe--now that Tony's no longer serves breakfast, we usualy stop here on MK day. Among our selections were the "big Kahuna" (has a bit of everything), the French Toast, and the basic eggs/bacon breakfast. Everyone in our group prefers bacon well done, and that is exactly what we got. The potatoes accompanying the meals got high marks, as did the Kona blend coffee. A highlight of the meal came when Mrs. Uncleromulus poured syrup in her coffee, instead of milk!! Both came in the exact same size/color pitcher..I was all for letting her drink it, but alas, her friend saw what happened and stopped her.. Our server said that it happens a lot--
Yeah--sure..

Grand Floridian Cafe:
One of the breakfast places I had never tried. We did it on our second MK day. A pretty spot and food quite good. I had a poached egg/corned beef cassarole. Not the traditional corned beef hash--these were strips of corned beef, layered over hash browns, green peppers and onions. And it was all topped with 2 poached eggs. The eggs were poached just right too. Often when I order them they are not really cooked thru. Most places do not have a traditional "egg poacher", so they drop the eggs in water and cook them that way. These were "drop in's" too, but cooked just right. The Mickey waffle got high marks, as did the french toast.

Boatwrights:
As always got the Blueprint omlette with bacon, sausage, ham and 3 different kinds of cheese. Delightful!! The french toast was also a winer. Bacon was served as ordered--well done.

Boma buffet:
We'd been here several times before, but our friends hadn't. Both agreed it was supurb. The carved pork loin and ham was a big hit, as was the omlette station. Everyone liked the special juice drink they serve, and the Kenya AA coffee was big hit.

Maya Grill:
A more "basic" buffet, but Mrs. U loves the breakfast burritos they serve. Perhaps the best tasting bacon out of all the meals.

To sum up--each of these spots is excellent for a full breakfast. Service was fine throughout and the coffee (when you didn't pour syrup in it) was good.

As always, thanks for your reviews! Sounds yummy!

You're making me very hungry...all I had for breakfast was toast!!!!

Thanks for the reviews!!! Renessa

Great reviews...I love reading about other's dining experience as it gives me a chance to consider places I'd never ordinarily dine.

Another great review...love crispy bacon, too.

Tried Broatwights because of your reviews and loved it. One of these days we may have to get over to Maya Grill!

Uncleromulus, I'm always hungry after reading your dining reviews!
:D Excellent as always. Looking forward to your lunch and dinner reviews!

Thanks for your post. I can't believe you have already been back to disney. It seems just like yesterday that I read another post from you about food. Time goes by too quickly........

Love the reviews! I am not a big breakfast eater, but I do want to try some of these places, sooner or later. :)

Thanks for the reviews. We also just came back from our annual fall trip and ate at a few of the places you enjoyed. We just love Kona cafe for Breakfast, we ate here 3 times during our stay. I love there omelette's and the potatoes they serve with them, plus the Kona coffee is tops in WDW. We also ate at Boatrights for the first time and enjoyed our breakfast there also. I had to try the Sweet Potatoe pancakes and they were really good. We will be eating here again in Dec. when we stay at Port Orleans. I also miss Tony's for breakfast, we always used to make it a tradition to eat here at least once on every trip.

Thanks for the great breakfast reviews. We also enjoy the Grand Floridian Cafe not only for breakfast but also for lunch. Next time we are in Disney we will have to try Boatrights, sounds good!!!!!!

Excellent reviews! We enjoyed Boma too and for those like myself who don't care for coffee, they also have an excellent African tea.

We're normally not breakfast eaters, but after reading your reviews I may have to rethink our dining strategies. :D

Excellent reviews ~ You have made me hungry for breakfast and I'm not a breakfast eater.

I love the Kona Kafe! Got that on the list for the upcoming trip -- got to have the banana stuffed french toast!

The family is trying Boma for breakfast this time too. Thanks for the review of it! :sunny:

The men in my family would love that corned beef! Thank You for the reviews!!

Uncleromulus! Too funny that you would have let your wife take a sip of that syrup coffee. So much like my husband - he would have been waititng for the reaction!!!!

Great reviews - thanks so much for sharing.

Colette

Funny you should bring this subject up. DH and I have stayed at DXL for years and Boatwrights has been the only place we've ever eaten breakfast, except for the RFC at AK. We love it, but I was mentioning to him the other day that on this trip we should try and branch out a bit. Like you we love poached eggs but are always hesitant to order them out in fear they are too over or under done. Now armed with your information, I think we'll do some breakfast experimentation. Since we've had dinner in almost evey venue at WDW this will be a new adventure. I've always enjoyed your reviews. Frankly, you and the Mrs. and DH and I have very similiar tastes.::yes::

Hi Uncle,
Did the breakfast buffet at Boma have interesting choices like the dinner does? It's one of my favorites but I've never tried it for breakfast. - thanks, Nancy

Hadjii:
Well--nothing completely out of the ordinary different. Saw several "pizza" type selections with eggs, sausage, sauce etc, and there is the omlette station with a # of ingredients to choose from. Plus that carved pork loin and ham--and their specialty fruit drink. PLus the usual buffet assortment of buscuits, rolls, fruit, cereal, etc.
So I'd have to say not as "interesting" as perhaps the dinner menu, but more variety and choices than any other WDW breakfast spot.
