Fitting in Seven dwarfs mine train

So is it more of a width thing, or a thickness thing? Like I previously mentioned, I'm not pooh sized, but somewhat thicker in the legs. I am, however, wide. I have wide hips and broad shoulders, so sometimes that poses an issue. I recall Splash feeling tight after they redid the bars, and I have to turn sideways to get through the narrow turnstiles into Carousel of Progress. Other than that, I don't normally have issues.

Following up as promised.

That piece is definitely permanent, and it does restrict foot space. I could see the podiatricly-blessed having a tight fit.

As for the lap bar, I had no trouble with it at 6'2"/220, but my thighs are not overly large. (You're welcome for the visual.) I was conscious of the advice on here to not pull the lap bar back as far as possible. Just a little bit was enough for safety and not uncomfortable. DW would admit to carrying some extra weight in her thighs, and she also had no real issues. She said she was a little uncomfortable, but also admitted to pulling the bar back closer to her than she probably should have (I had advised her of not pulling it back too tight).

As for my opinion of the ride itself. Cute was the word that came to me first. Faster and "thrillier" than Barnstormer, slower and calmer than Big Thunder--as has been suspected for years. Theming is wonderful, the lone dark scene is gorgeous. I know many will say it didn't live up to the "hype", but I think the hype was borne out of a lot of impatient Disney fans thinking in their heads it must be pretty darn good to take this long.
Thanks for the follow through, mesa, and the PM to be alerted to it. Appreciated. Have a fun balance of your visit.

OK, I am seriously wondering where I am going to stick my ginormous size 15 feet on this ride.

The floor? I don't know what that box is in that photo as I have never seen it in any of the rows we have sat in but I also only have sat to the inside seat. No weird box there and under your seat is all open so you can put your feet under your seat if needed.

I'm 6'5" with a size 16 shoe. I fit just fine when we rode last night. The main thing is having both your knees and legs crammed between the single lap bar. Everything is REALLY squeezed in there tight, if you get my drift.

Next time through, please compare the floorspace under the left versus right seat and see if you notice any difference. (No tape measure required, I'll accept a visual estimation. :)) Maybe there's hope for Dan Murphy yet!

I was in Row 3, by the way, but I assume it's in all of them.

I am 6-4/220 and I had no trouble with comfort on this ride. The only one at Disney that did not accommodate my size was Aerosmith Rocking Roller Coaster. I was miserable in it.

Its a tight squeeze. Had issues getting my backpack and legs in my spot to pull the lap bar down. My son had no issues. He is 5'7' 140

Well geez! First the new boats at POC that soak you and threaten bodily harm and/or being tossed from the ride, and now the pooh sized getting crammed into sardine cans and whipped about on the mine train. What the heck's going on with the ride vehicle situation?

We rode POC last week and didnt get wet at all but we were not in the front either.

My husband rode it today. He's 6'4 and 350lbs. He carries in his belly area, but, his legs are pretty thick. He fit on it. It was tight and left marks on the side of his legs. Especially since the ride stopped for a few minutes. But he said it wasn't bad. Snug, but bearable.

Maybe that should be the new slogan. The seven dwarfs mine train...it's snug but bearable! LOL

I'm 5' 6" and 230 lbs. It was a snug fit. I was uncomfortable. I could barely fit my backpack between my legs as well.

And if anyone is wondering - yes they will put a stranger next to you if you are a single rider. Luckily the woman next to me was petite otherwise we'd have had an uncomfortable ride sitting thigh to thigh on the ride.

After reading my way through this, I'm so not looking forward to this ride - everyone carries their weight differently, and the fact that there isn't a test seat fills me with dread! At least I could try out EE or FJ before I had to endure the walk of shame!!

I've still got a few months to drop some pounds, but it won't make much of a dent...curses to my failed weight loss bid!

I feel the same way. It's making me dread it and I'm considering not even trying it because I would be mortified if I had to get up and walk out because I didn't fit.

I was filled with dread too! I was worried that I was going to be completely embarrassed. I am about 275...5'7". It was a snug fit but nothing to be mortified about. I had a teenager next to me and we were fine. But...I did not hat any bags with me. Not even a purse. And that was definitely helpful. I wouldn't have had anywhere to put it!! I know everyone has their own opinions but I thought the ride was awesome - it was sooo smooth! It's always fun riding something for the first time. Good luck everyone!!!

I need to bring a good size bag for medical reasons- is there anyplace back in Fantasyland to temporarily store it so it does not need to share leg space with me?

I usually like to lower my legs and put my feet under the seat I am sitting on when I pull down the bar so that I get more room...uncomfortable, but as long as I can ride, I don't really care about my comfort, since I am large. I do this on planes sometimes as well to stretch my feet.

But these seats don't appear to allow one to do that, since there is no open area under the legs...or is there? From the earlier pics, it doesn't appear so...for those that have ridden the ride, is this true? Can you tuck your legs under your seat?

hmm...maybe I'll have the hubs take one for the team and do the walk of shame if it is super uncomfortable! He can ride in Sept. when we go back, lol.

ETA...I think I will keep 2 FP+ then we can rider swap so we can all try it. I was going to have us all get a FP+ so we could do it twice but pretty sure once will be enough if it is as uncomfortable as I am imagining.

just wondering how you made out!?
