I cannot stand flat sheets used as a fitted sheet. I can never sleep as well. Does anyone bring their own fitted sheets from home? If so, how well did it work for you with Mousekeeping?

Yes!

I just make the bed myself and leave a note to not change the sheets.

I have never done this, but I have heard that some people bring a brightly-colored fitted sheet and put it right over the flat sheet that's already there. Even if you forget to leave a note for the mousekeepers, they will know that that sheet does not belong to Disney!

;)

Definitely! But housekeeping hasn't been an issue, we've never stayed more than 5 nights and sheets are only changed at 7 so it never even occured to me.

Bright sheets - good idea:thumbsup2

I hate waking up with my face in the mattress...yuck!...anyway, I bought sheet anchors (I think that's what they are called). They look like the old garter belt things that held up stockings. You attach one end to one side of the sheet, in the corner, and the other end to the other side of the sheet. It goes under the mattress corners.

So far, they have worked for me!

That's a great idea!! I keep a fitted sheet (1000 TC) in my ownerslocker. I just returned from SSR and with the upgraded linens, I did not need to use my sheet:thumbsup2 . The sheets were plenty big enough and soft enough, although by day 4 they did start to untuck. I could use the anchors and use that space in my locker for something else.
I loved the new upgraded linens and pillows, and towels at SSR. (upgrade!)

Call me crazy but I bing the whole shebang -sheets, blankets, puff and pillows for everybody. It takes up a whole suitcase. But at least we all sleep well.

We bought a cheap (think clearance aisle) navy blue king fitted sheet to put in our Owner's Locker. I figure there's little chance of the housekeeping staff mistaking navy blue for one of their sheets.

I will agree with the poster who said the newer sheets are an improvement. It took us 2 or 3 days before the standard Disney linens started coming untucked. That's when we finally got around to using our own. :lmao:

I love my Disney vacations, but I hate their stupid sheets! The king fitted sheets don't even extend all the way to the bottom of the mattress! Honestly, I would never put up with it in any other establishment, especially for the prices we're paying!

But--problem solved with my Owner's Locker!

We bought sheets this last trip! They are so cozy! I look forward to our next vacation anyway, but knowing that my sheets are ready for me makes it that much better. :cloud9:

Our last trip was in June, but none of my teenagers are home to tell me how to get rid of this tickerfactory thing.

Hmmmmm...I wonder. We just returned from the BW and I our sheets stayed put the entire trip! Normally they get all untucked within a few days and not this time. I wonder if they have the upgraded linens. We had a small catalog in the room that displayed the linens, blankets, mattresses, etc. and you could order anything if you wanted.

I LOVE the colored fitted sheet idea.

We don't have OWNERs locker (YET) but we do have a "DISNEY BACKPACK" which has a big note in it: FITTED SHEET so we will remember one every time. Our backpack has our AP's ; gift cards/rewards; Disney $ (yard sale $); ponchos; ADR list; insect repellent wipes; anything else that we deem Disney needs.

We're another family that brings a fitted sheet. I bought a queen & king fitted for about $5 each off a clearance rack. One is an ugly floral and the other is green & white stripes. The patterns help me remember to take them off before leaving!

We stayed at the BWV in May and didn't have a problem with the sheet coming untucked, but the bottom sheet was very scratchy and uncomfortable. We usually stay at Hilton or Starwood Hotels so we are used to those nice comfy sheets on vacation, and I was thinking maybe next time I will bring my own just to sleep better at night. This was our 2nd stay at the BWV and I don't remember having this problem on our 1st stay one year ago. I wonder if this is just a one time thing or a real issue to think about in the future?

I've done this, and it worked out fine. This past trip, I forgot my sheets. The sofabed was fine, but my husband ended up on the bare mattress again on the queen bed. He always always always ends up on bare mattress---- grosses me out. We usually bring very brightly patterned fitted sheets (they were Ralph Lauren irregulars at Filene's--- very inexpensive)--- one is a blue plaid, and the other is lime green with purple flowers--- can't miss em.

we've never had a problem with the mattress showing or bottom sheet getting untucked! you must move around alot in your sleep :rolleyes1

I was thinking the same thing! :lmao: Now I am going to be aware of it and it will drive me crazy, I'm sure! I did love the new linens at WDW. I winder if they have them at HHI? Anyone know?
