Has anyone bought these and more specific has anyone worn them to the parks?

How did they feel?

Did they really give you exercise/toning?

I have knee issues and a dislocated toe from our prior stay at WDW (thanks to those scooters and an ignorant guest!).

Just trying to see if they are worth the $40

Good question. I'd like to know too. I was debating on them or maybe some crocs instead of tennis shoes every day.

I love my FitFlops and wear them a lot. They have great support and my feet have never hurt after wearing them. I have not worn them to WDW yet so I can't give you an opinion on that but I have worn them for an entire day with no discomfort. I would say they are worth $40 but I'm one who would spend $150 to have comfortable feet so these seem like a bargain!:)

My fiance recently got a pair of the men's FitFlops and has been wearing them EVERYWHERE. He bought them because he has knee issues that no one has been able to diagnose so far and is hoping that they'll help strengthen his weak knee, because they work in all directions, and not just the "back and forth" that regular walking works. His knee injury is strange, in that sitting bothers it much more than running does, but has led to an overall cumulative effect that makes mobility painful. So far, no verdict yet. He says that they're as comfortable as his Tevas once you get used to the "thong" in the sandals (he's a guy, and so not used to wearing flip flops like us ladies normally are) and provide good support while walking. He hasn't noticed the "fit" effect, but he's a long distance runner, so his legs are already pretty toned. As far as his knee, he hasn't noticed an improvement, but he has noticed that the FitFlops don't bother his knee like other sandals do. He thinks that they would be comfortable for walking and standing a lot, like you do in WDW.

I would think that the dislocated toe might be the bigger issue, as you have to "scrunch" your toes a bit to hold flip flops in place, but if regular flip flops haven't been bothering you, I'd give them a try. I live in my $75 Keen flip flops, and they are by far the most comfortable sandal that I own; I was leery about spending that much on a flip flop, but I've learned that there is a big difference between the $5 Old Navy foam flip flops, and the really high quality ones, in terms of comfort.

I'm not familiar with them myself, but a friend had bought them, not used to walking very much, and wore them in disney and she said she was in SO much pain. Her feet and ankles and everything were sore. I would think if you're used to them, not a big deal, but she wasn't used to the shoes, or that much walking, and the combo was not good for her.

That is a really excellent point! My fiance's experience is coming from someone who regularly runs long distance events and we walk A LOT in our city. For us, a Disney trip is no more walking (and considerably less running!) than usual. For someone who does not do a lot of walking regularly, the fit effect + the huge increase in distance could conceivable do a lot of damage, almost as if you'd suddenly decided to go from no activity at all to running a marathon one day.

I wore them one day on our last trip. I thought they were very comfortable, like another poster said, they have a lot more cushion than a normal flip flop. I bought a pair before we left and bought a pair of Mickey ones at Disney.

I really like them but I also run for exercise so I have not noticed the "fit" effect. But I do find them comfortable.

I wore croc flip flops every single day and they never hurt my feet nor did I get a blister...

I don't have any fit flops to compare...

I've had mine since Christmas and wear them everywhere (knowing I want to "break them in for Disney. I walk for exercise daily (up to 3 miles) and they are great. No pain whatsoever. Looking forward to wearing them in Sept on vacation! They have Mickey ones???? Would love to see a pic!

I have been debating on getting a pair. I wear flip-flops all the time, and I figure if I'm walking in regular flip-flops, I might as well get a pair of these and get the full effect out of walking.

Did someone say they have mickey ones!!! I have GOT to see a picture of these, and I might have to call and order a pair!!!

It took me a while to get used to my Fit Flops. I really like them, but they are not comfortable enough for WDW. I have 3 pairs of Skecher walking sandles that are super comfortable and have worked great for WDW and DL.

I don't have a picture but I'll try to describe them.

The base of the shoe is black. The part of the strap that is attached/wrapped to the base is like a shiny vinyl/pleather. The strap coming from the sides is black fabric with embossed black polka dots. Where the straps come together is a circle with the same shiny black vinyl and has a Mickey head embossed. The bottom of the shoe, that you walk on is clearish, and you can see 6 various sized white Mickey heads.

Sorry for the lack of picture, I don't have the foggiest idea how to post one. The Mickey on the top of the shoe is very subtle.

I really want to buy a pair but I cannot stand the way the strap comes up high on my food, it is very irritating and feels like my foot is not all the way in the shoe and my heel will hang off the back.

I went to KMart and they have a version of them, WOW they are fantastic, super comfy and not expensive at all. I wore them to WDW last week and I was in the parks every day all day and had no pain at all. I bought them in black, silver, red, navy and brown (so I can match all my outfits!)

I just asked my hairdresser this the other day. She swears by them since she is on her feet all day. She wore them to Disney with no problem but she is use to them. My trip is not until August so I plan on picking up a pair within the next 2 weeks and getting use to them.

I hate crocs so this is a good looking alternative.

I bought a pair of FitFlops for 75% off at a Bath & Body Works outlet store (for $12.50 vs $50). They are super comfy, but the one & only time i wore them walking long distance (walked for about 3 hrs straight on a greenway path), i got shin splints very bad from them. i do wear them around doing errands and to target and such with no troubles, i just don't wear them for exercise walking anymore.

i had a pair of Curves brand sandals from the Avon book that have curved soles (similar to fit flops, but different) and thoses ones never gave me shin splints though.

I have also seen the non-fit flop brand fit flops at K-mart, i think they are around $10-15ish and they look exactly the same. If you are curious, i would try those first to get a feel for them.

I tried on a pair of the Disney FitFlops and for some reason they don't fit me, they are extremely narrow. Thank goodness, because that would have been $50 out of my wallet just because they had Mickey on them. lol.

to those that don't like the look of crocs, they have so many different styles now, you don't have to stick to the kind that you put jibbitz in. try the cleo or adara styles.

I had never heard of these, but after looking them up, I don't really get it.
The first testimonial on the website is about how the person's legs were sore after wearing them for a few days. They use that as a good thing to show that they are giving you a workout. So I can understand buying them for non-disney use to work your leg muscles and burn more calories.

But walking around disney is tiring enough as it is, so why would you want to wear shoes that make your legs work harder?

I tried on a pair of fitflops last year and didn't like them one bit. The strap was too tight on my feet, and they just didn't feel right.

Now I've been a Crocs capri wearer for a while now--I used to swear by them (and still do to an extent).

But just last week I bought a pair of Orthaheel flip flops in the Tide style. It took about three days to get used to them, but now I LOVE them. They were designed by a podiatrist, and they're amazing. I can't wait to try them out at Disney! I have feet problems and have been desperate to find a good pair of flip flops that were comfortable and healthy for my feet, and I found them with the Orthaheels. I highly suggest you check them out!

I just bought them and plan on wearing them this trip! I'll let you know how they do when I come back!

:cool1: ooo do you remember what shop you got them in? How much they were? I LOVE my fit flops, and now knowing they have Diney ones...I can't wait to get a pair.
