Fitbit Cheap

I'm looking for a very basic bracelet style fitbit - basically to count steps. Where to buy?

I have no idea if they really work well or not but our Five Below store had some a couple weeks ago for $5. I think I also saw a different knock off brand at Gordman's.

If you can find a deal on a real Fitbit I would get that instead, my DH and I both have really liked ours so far.

You can sometimes save a couple of bucks on amazon. They do have good customer service. Mine was acting up after about a year, so they sent me a new one, and DH lost his a month after he got it, and fitbit replaced it.

I have two Fitbits right now. I have a clip on and I just bought the kind with the heart rate monitor. I bought the clip on from CL for $25 (that was a while ago, I see them now for about $15) and I got the HR one from Kohl's with a bunch of Kohl's cash and a $25 gift card.....but otherwise they are retail price ($149). I think I paid $85 when all was added in. It was worth it to me to get the HR monitor.

I've been doing a ton of research on fitness trackers lately. The Jawbone Up Move gets great reviews for accuracyamong the inexpensive options. The tracker itself is only about $40 and then you can get a band to turn the tracker into a bracelet (if you don't want to clip it on your clothes) for about $10

I LOVE my fitbit. I got my flex a while ago over $125, Ive seen them now alot cheaper. And depending on the color band they can go for $70. Plus you can buy cheap bands on ebay ( they break easy ) and change out the colors. I have heard though the jawbones are the cheapest. I also like the Garmin but they are $150

I have the Fit Bit Zip - I think - it was $50. I should have bought it the week before (had a sale) for $40. I have had it for a year. I this is the least expensive one in their line.

I also have the Zip. I bought it at Target so I got my 5% RedCard discount on it. It's strictly a step counter, it doesn't track sleep, stairs or heart rate but it works fine for me. You can get the app to sync it on your phone and the app will sync to other fitness apps like LoseIt and My Fitness Pal. My DH uses his iPhone (5Sand above). It does count stairs but it doesn't work for me because I don't always have it on me. The only time the Zip isn't on my person is when I'm taking a shower.

I bought my Fitbit Flex when LL Bean had 10% off on their website; it cost me $89. I've used it for almost 3 months, and it keeps me on track with my steps/walking. I wear it all the time, except for showering and washing dishes. I also bought different color bands on ebay.

I have a FB One and a FB Flex. I think the One is more accurate since the Flex doesn't really measure steps, it measures arm movement. I like FB because their website and app are very user friendly.

I bought two MovBands for $25 each. They work fine. I purchased them as part of my kids Florida Virtual School class so I got a small discount but not much. Regular price is $29.99. They are not sleek. My daughter lost hers so we replaced them both with FitBit Flex we bought from the store on our military base for $89.99

By the way, Dicks Sporting Goods had FitBit Flex on sale today for $79.99, regular price $99.99.

Not sure what I will do with the MovBand, or if my daughter finds her lost one (she lost it at a sleep over and the girls so far say they haven't seen it).

If you don't need the latest generation, Best Buy usually sells the older ones on eBay for a hefty discount. I think they have the Jawbone Up24 (Large) in Persimmon for 50+% off right now. Worth a look if you don't mind getting an older model or a random color.

If you are up for a bit of a configuration challenge in exchange for a great device at a great price, look into the Xiaomi Mi band. You can order them from China (where Xiaomi is a major player in the cell phone market) for about $15-20. It tracks steps and sleep pretty effectively, has bluetooth to automatically sync with your phone (not all the older devices have this), has a great battery life (around 25-30 days per charge) and you can also set it up to buzz you when your phone gets a notification and you are within bluetooth range of it. I have mine setup to buzz me on phone calls, emails and texts - I never hear my phone when it is in my purse, so I find this immensely helpful. I am absolutely in love with mine for the notification feature alone

If you are interested in this device, just be careful where you buy it from - there are some counterfeits on the market. I bought 2 through tinydeal.com and got authentic devices.

You will also need to Google the version of the app that buzzes on notifications - that is not part of the standard app available in the different app stores, but you can find the notification-buzzing version at http://en.miui.com/. This is an official English website for Xiaomi. You will need to sideload it - hence the references to the "configuration challenge", but if you read and follow the directions it's really not hard (at least the Android version wasn't, I can't vouch for the iOS stuff since I am an Android gal).

Are you willing to go with alternate ideas? What kind of cell phone do you have? My husband and I both recently upgraded our cellphones (I have an iphone 6 plus and he has a Galaxy note 4) and we were surprised to find out that our phones have a built in health app that tracks our steps, flights of stairs and walking/running distance. Obviously it's not quite as convenient as wearing a bracelet tracker because you have to either be carrying your phone or have it in your pocket, but we still were happy with how they work for us. I don't know anything about accuracy, but when we were together and walking the same places, our step counts were similar. And I like free. LOL

I have an iPod that I use while walking that has a fitness app that counts my steps. It seems to be pretty accurate.

I don't have a smart phone so a cheaper Fitbit that needs to be uploaded to another device wouldn't work for me.
