Fit Before 50: Barb's Journal to a Slimmer, Healthier Self

That is weird about the 5 lappers. Maybe one of them got cramps or something? :confused3

How fun to be so close to your cruise! ;)

I need to steam clean too - I've been putting it off...(mine is for the carpet) 3 dogs, we need it! Glad the weather is being great for you - and hope you got your workouts in - and good to hear the yogurt with "candy" is helping you beat the cravings. Ooh, your cruise is getting close -just a few more days - you can hit 140! Maybe the 5 lappers were new to it...or just needed to de-stress a bit. Anyway, glad to see you're feeling like yourself again!

:goodvibesYou'll make it to under 140! I know it. You've been working really hard.

I love water walking and water jogging is the only way I can jog so I love that too! I am with you, why bother to jump in for such a short workout?

You must be getting so excited for that cruise! I always think staying on the ship when its in port would be nice since most people do get off and you'd have so few crowds.

lucky lucky you barb to be cruising in the warm weather on the best ship in the world at a weight you've waited a long time to see :)
you've worked hard & now all the hard work is paying off :goodvibes

Whew, it was a busy weekend. I FORGOT to do my workout on Sat...I can't believe it! DH and I went to Busch Gardens early in the morning (it's a little over an hour away), then had dinner at a Mexican place on the way home. For some reason we were both so tired that we crashed...got up for dinner and stayed up for a bit, then crashed again. Guess we're not used to all that fresh air and hiking around at once. Oh well, at least I got the walking execise.

Yesterday was spent visiting every Target in the area in search of their store brand crystal cat litter. We've used it for years and it is the cheapest (most brands are wicked expensive). We went to the local store to stock up and it was on clearance!! They will no longer be carrying it...argh. We bought all 11 jugs and proceeded to visit all the other Targets in the area hoping to find more, but no such luck. Guess we'll have to switch brands and up the cat supply budget.

Did my workout early today as I have a community meeting tonight. I'm almost done with the 30 day challenge. Woo hoo!!!!! :thumbsup2

Way to go getting in your workout. I could never exercise at 11 PM. Hope you had fun at Busch Gardens. Sounds like you got plenty of walking in for the day.

Way to go, Barb!!!!:cheer2: You're almost done with your 30 day challenge!:cheer2: Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Glad you enjoyed your day Saturday...all that walking around the park probably burned off some calories too!

Happy to hear you could stock up on it, but don't you hate when they stop carrying something you use! We do that too...if we have a clue - we'll buy up a bunch to back up.

I would have done the exact same thing with the cat litter! :rotfl: Isn't it so annoying when you faithfully buy something for years and they suddenly stop carrying it?? At least you'll be set for a while. :)

What are the biggest changes you've noticed from your 30 day challenge?

The 30 day challenge seems to have toned me, particularly in my arms, and I noticed that I don't get as winded from the "long run" part. Hubby says he sees a difference in my legs too (Sports Active LOVES the squats) but I don't see that as much.

I think I'm going to bring the SA resistance band on the cruise for upper body work. I use the Firm weights when I'm doing exercises on the Wii but those would be a pain to put in the luggage. I also need to commit to a nice, long walk on Castaway Cay. They have an organized walk in the morning so I might aim for that.

Barb, I can relate to your cat litter. With me it was Dove roll on deodorant!:rotfl: I had my stash of about ten or twelve of them but now they are gone!

Good job on the 30 day challenge. Toned arms are a sign of your hard work paying off!

I'd say all that walking around Busch Gardens is activity.

I think it's great that you are incorporating your fitness routine into your vacation. :thumbsup2

An organized walk is a great idea, and a way to enjoy the experience without it feeling like work....hope your cruise is super - and congrats on seeing differences in your body. Your time and commitment are paying off

Well, I was reminded this week of why I do not keep snacks in the house. Saw cocoa powdered almonds an thought it would be both a healthy snack and a way to feed my chocolate hormones. Normally I am good about nut portions, but those set me off. Ate way too many yesterday, could not bring myself to throw them away because they were pricey, so ate too many again today. Pure habit eating since I am not stressed and have no other reason. I will remember this any time I am tempted to buy a snack food.

Hi Barb,

I totally understand about the snack food thing. I'm like that with Doritos. I will eat and eat and eat the whole bag before I know it. I finally realized that I just can't have them in the house at all. At least nuts are a good source of protein and the chocolate has anti-oxidants. :goodvibes

How many more days til your cruise? I bet you're looking forward to it!:goodvibes

Hope you have a great day!

Oh, feeling your pain... snacks can be so hard to resist! I like the way toystoryduo put it about protein and antioxidants :)

I have the same problem with nuts! I've finally weaned myself off peanut butter... :rolleyes1 At least you recognize it is a problem and can avoid it in the future! Why can't we just have problems with carrots and celery??
