Fit Before 50: Barb's Journal to a Slimmer, Healthier Self

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I bet it will feel great when you are able to get back into your routine! :goodvibes

oh dear Barb, you have really been through it! Glad your on the mend now & the kitties looked after you :)

I'm glad to hear that you're starting to feel better, Barb.

I remember when Wendy's used to have a salad bar! I loved their salad bar and was really bummed out when they got rid of them.

Hope you have a great day!

Barb, I am so glad you are feeling better. I miss the Wendy's salad bars! Your back and head may have hurt from being so sick. I can't remember how much force your body endures when it vomits, but its a lot! You have been through the ringer.

Your dh was very wise to throw his leftovers away!

Ease back into your routine slowly and you'll be back where you left off in no time!

Oh Barb, I'm so sorry to hear about your food poisoning! That just sounds awful!! Hope you're feeling better!!!

Thanks so much for all the kind thoughts, everyone! I finally got back to my exercise routine today. I meant to start yesterday but I was so far behind in everything that I didn't come up for air till 11 p.m. between housework, regular work etc. I worked out this morning to get it out of the way and it felt great. I will still complete the 30 day challenge before the cruise, even though I hated to miss all those days.

I got some extra exercise...pulled out the steamer and steam cleaning the first floor, which was in desperate need of it. That included moving stuff around too so I actually worked up a sweat. I just love the Steam Shark appliances.

hey Barb - do you want to pop over & steam my place???
Glad your feeling better & getting back into your routine :)

I'm glad that you're feeling better, Barb!

Great job getting your workout in!

How's the weather now? I hope it's warmed up significantly for you! :sunny:

So happy to hear that you are feeling better and back to exercising!

:goodvibes

Glad you are feeling better. Don't fret about missing those workouts, you have to listen to your body and rest when it demands rest. ;)

Doesn't it feel great to have nice, clean carpet?? Maybe you can steam clean that Snuggie your cat peed on! :lmao:

The steam cleaner is actually the kind for tile floors, not carpet. I have that and the small handheld unit that you can use to clean just about everything else (fixtures, appliances, etc.). The steam gets up all the ground-in dirt and the tile dries much more quickly than mopping. No more Swiffers for me, other than occasional touch-ups inbetween steaming.

I'm going to do my workout this evening. The weather is soooo gorgeous now! A bit chilly but in an invogorating way so I need to call my friend so we can start up our walking.

I'm proud of myself...have been channeling my chocolate cravings into my yogurt with the candy toppings. The candy amount is very limited but it seems to slake my sweet tooth enough to allow me to resist the craving for more, more, more.

Glad to hear you are holding your ground with your cravings!

Barb, its amazing how just a bit of candy can satisfy the sweet craving. I get those yogurts too sometimes and they feel like a treat.

I want one of those steam cleaners!

Great job on eating the yogurt + candy topping instead of the chocolate!:thumbsup2 It does help to have a little bit to enjoy doesn't it? Just the other day we went out for McDonald's frozen yogurt. I had a few bites and gave the rest of it to my kids. I was satisfied with the amount that I had and that was it. Usually, I would plow through it without even thinking about it or enjoying it.

I hope you had a nice walk last night. I wish the weather would warm up enough here to where we could start our nightly walks again. Of course, we have a few months before that happens. ;)

Have a great day, Barb!

Dang, my workout was late last night...11 p.m.! Work just got really crazy but I did get it in. Of course it had to be a really killer too. Today is a rest day but I might create my own Sports Active workout if I don't do something outside.

I'm trying to drink more Gatorade. Hubby bought me a different flavor (fruit punch) that is pretty tasty. I tend to stict to coffee in the morning which is not very hydrating after a sleep so I want to start substituting the Gatorade instead.

The cruise is just a little more than a week away (the 31st) and I am already thinking about a food and exercise plan to keep me on track....particularly the exercise since it's so easy to get lazy on the ship.

I am soooooo close to dropping below 140! Just a couple more pounds and I will enter new territory on the scale that I haven't seen in decades. That will be a real motivator/boost.

I admire your dedication! :worship: Most people, myself included, would have skipped the workout if it had to take place that late! Way to go. :cool1:

I think it's wonderful that you are coming up with a plan to stay healthy on your cruise. And I hope you break that 140 barrier! Obviously I can't seem to do it, it will be nice to live vicariously through you... :rolleyes1

Barb, good job getting that workout in! I am with the other Amy, I would have bagged it!

I can't believe you are cruising in a week. What is your itinerary and ship?

Good job thinking ahead. I hope you get to go to Palo!:cloud9:

We're cruising the four day Wonder so it's Nasau, Castaway Cay and a day at sea (we'll probably pretend Nassau is a sea day too).

I ended up going to the health club tonight with DH for some water jogging. It felt so good! It's strange tho'...there was one other guy who did laps for a long time but then two other people who jumped in, did maybe five laps, and left. Doesn't seem worth getting wet for.

Your cruise is so close, Barb! Very exciting! That's great that you're thinking ahead about food and exercise wise. :thumbsup2

I'm with you on the swimming thing. If I'm gonna hop in a pool, it's gonna be for more than 5 laps! ;)

Hope you have a nice evening!
