Fishing,accelerating modifying and MEP

We did EE today and on Tuesday. I was lucky to get an MEP from Indy both mornings shortly after 8am. The first day we didn’t even need to use the MEP but today we used it in DCA to ride GOTG.

Regarding accelerating, crowds right now are so manageable that I doubt I would even need or want to accelerate. It’s be lovely to stack a few LLMP for the evening.
Thanks for sharing! It is disappointing for acceleration to be gone, but MEP's are still so valuable to ride what you want when you want to!

I agree that modifying usually works to get the times you want. I just wish it didn't require so much time on the phone! I would sit during our afternoon break and sometimes refresh for 10 minutes before certain rides would give us the time we wanted for hard ones like Guardians. Others are easier to modify.

I think the most important thing, acceleration or not, is to make a reservation immediately when you are eligible every single time. LL often isn't even needed until after 11:00 am, so just modify things into the afternoon/evening. Also, knowing which rides sell out faster - things like Small World and Autopia have availability late into the day with very soon return times.

Other rides like Runaway Railway I actually want to wait in the line for about 20 minutes - the line is so cool and our kids love it!
 
So you can still modify a LL reservation to be later in the day?
Yes and its as many times as you want unless they are out of LL times for the day

But I had an Indy time I keep moving from 9 AM until I got to 4 PM, last weekend.

(if anyone is wondering why....its pretty rare you need a LL until noon, so I like to stack LL for my afternoon/nights)
 
I employed fishing to great advantage on our most-recent trip last weekend and also took full advantage of the "modify" feature to maximize the number of Lightning Lane selections we were able to make, to the point where we finished Saturday night with 7 unused multiple experience passes and finished Sunday night with 6.

With that said, I do have a strategy question; my historic preference has been to start the day at the park that doesn't have early entry, so we get to have a true rope drop experience (usually for Guardians or Space Mountain). However, for purposes of fishing and harvesting MEPs, it seems like it's actually better to start at the park that has early entry, because it's easy to see what rides are likely to be down at the official park opening. For instance, on Sunday California Adventure was open for early entry and I was able to see that Web Slingers was down and harvest two multiple experience passes while we rope dropped Guardians and still only had a 20 minute wait, even with resort guests ahead of us.

Similarly, for Disneyland, if we were to rope drop Indy on an early entry day, we could monitor whether Space and Materhorn were open for early entry and possibly harvest MEPs from those closures.

Would all of the experts agree that this is a preferred strategy or is it still better to avoid the early entry park (we're never trying to rope drop RSR or RotR, so that's irrelevant to us)?

Makes sense in regards to EE and seeing what's down. We always tried to start opposite EE at least 3 of 4 days, with 1 matching EE for an extra DL start. On our last trip in July we started at the EE park 3 of 4 days just based on our schedule and when we wanted to visit each park.

I agree with you about advantages in booking LL while seeing what's down. I also just don't think it matters much starting at the EE park except for Peter Pan and Radiator Springs. There just are not that many on site guests at DLR, and even less willing to get out of bed and into the parks before 8.
 
@OlliePop27 I think you'd be surprised how many on site guests are willing to get out of bed and make it to EE.
I don't think I would be surprised. I've been there and seen it for myself many times, including just two months ago.

Crowds are subjective. What you think is crowded might not seem crowded to me.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine - each is valid.

All I can say from personal experience is that rope dropping the EE park (as an offsite guest without EE) had minimal impact on my touring experience. I rope dropped Fantasyland on an EE day and didn't wait for any rides. I was surprised.

Other people might have a different experience. YMMV.

Just checking ... one year later ... fishing for MEPs is still ok, but Accelerating LLs is still disabled. Right?

Accelerating turned MPLL into Premier Pass LL, so it's not surprising it was disabled once Premier Pass was introduced.

With the advent of Lightning Lane Premium Pass (LLPP), I doubt this bug feature will be coming back.
Acceleration was killed off when the service changed names last summer to LLMP from Genie+. It was likely "corrected" and also done in anticipation of the later rollout of LLPP. Either way, MEP are still valuable and allow you to ride what you want (depending on tier) when you want to and experience something more than once.
 
I just wanted to report here about a glitch we experience with MEPs. I rarely purchase LL service since we are Magic Key holders and visit frequently enough to not need to “do it all” every visit.

We bought it for Mother’s Day because my husband and mother-in-law were with us on day tickets.

It didn’t work well for us this day due to frequent ride breakdowns/bad luck plus the fact that we only stayed from 8:30am to 6pm so we
Only used it for four rides 😩. Felt like such a waste of money but it is what it is.

Anyway, one time, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway went down during our window. No MEPs popped up for a long time, like an hour. Finally, two MEPs appeared, but only on my husband and MIL’s tickets. We never got MEPs for the three of us with Magic Keys. It was really weird and had I not been more knowledgeable, I might not have realized what happened was not right. The plan was to go back with the two MEPs on the day ticket media and plead our case to the CMs, but the ride broke down again and then we had to leave so we never got to try.

Just wanted to give a heads up about this potential glitch!
