Fishing,accelerating modifying and MEP

What is the usual amount of time past your LL return time does a MEP come through when a ride is temporarily closed?

Interesting that it can happen before the return time too. Thanks for the response.
It usually means they are expecting an extended downtime during your LL window, so they issue it before your window even opens. This is a huge win!!

On the other hand, I have had a ride down for 55 minutes of my LL, and then the ride comes back up with 5 minutes left on the LL, and no MEP was issued. I think once the ride has been closed for more than half of the one hour LL window, a MEP should be issued, since I may have gone to a completely other part of the park from that ride, if it is down, and I may not be able to make it back to that ride within the LL window if there is only 5 minutes left when the ride comes back up. Disney, are you listening?? :flower1:

Anyone have experience trying to accelerate using an MEP on Monsters? I know it has often been "off" from the rest of the park. Wondering if accelerating works or if it takes your MEP.

One time using MEP accelerate on Monsters Inc did not work, but a week or so later it did work.
I think the first time was user error as they scanned the MEP multiple times for one or more guest.

It is IMPORTANT that when using MEP to accelerate that you only scan the guest once per LL attraction. If you scan more than once it will take the LL and the MEP from that guest.

A fix for the above is to visit a Guests Services podium and let them know what happened so they can give you back your MEP, but I like to avoid that step.

A new situation came up yesterday when trying to accelerate the MEP.

I got an MEP from the Matterhorn in the morning, which means I got a Gold Tier MEP.
I then got an ILL MEP from Rise.

When trying to accelerate the Cast Members at the LL scanners were seeing the Rise ILL and recommending that I not use that for something like Space Mountain or Star Tours, even though the Matterhorn MEP was still there.

I understand what they were doing, but it was annoying to explain to them that it was okay and I wanted to still use it. It was to the point that they didn't want to let me through. However, the CM at Space Mountain let me into the LL lane without scanning in. A win if I wanted to use the Space Mountain LL later.

Anyways, once scanned the MEP acceleration worked. It took the LL and the MEP for Matterhorn and ILL for Rise was still there. Which probably means that an ILL MEP will also accelerate other LL attractions.

If for some reason you use the MEP incorrectly, just go to a Guest Services podium and they can add the MEP back.

I saw on another website that MEP acceleration died with the changeover from Genie+ to LLMP, both at WDW and at Disneyland resort. Can anyone confirm or deny this happened at Disneyland?
Confirmed.

Got an MEP for Matterhorn went to use it for a late returning Incredicoaster and it took the MEP and not the Incredicoaster LL

Also the scan turned blue when scanning the MEP.

Not the answer we all wanted to hear, but it is best to know. Thanks for the reply.

So what does that mean now when you go to check into a ride with your Magic Band. How do you get the system to take the LL that you have booked for that particular ride and not take the Experience Access Pass which you may want to use later on on a different ride. I am confused.

My guess is that the system will automatically take the LL if you are within the return window. It will only use the MEP if it has to.

The actually scanning of the code or your Magic Band has never been LL pass specific. You are just identifying yourself to the system. It then sees if you have the necessary pass and uses it. The bug around the system choosing the wrong pass (where it would choose any LL for the ride over an MEP, even if it wasn’t time yet) has been fixed.
