Thanks for the pictures. Do you put the tie around the hanger, or around the fish itself? I know I am at least putting my last name on it and maybe both our first names.

There is enough activity in the halls that if someone has to go to a lot of trouble to steal it, they won't. This is enough of a deterrent. I haven't heard of any that were stolen that were secured.

Okay I feel reeeally stupid. I don't even know what zip ties are or where to buy them? I did a search online and all I keep coming up with are cable ties. Are these the same thing? These are what I am looking at.

you want to put it around the cord you are using to hang. If you attach it to the fish, it will be harder to remove.

One more question. How do you remove it. Do you have to cut it off? I'm pretty clumsy. I don't want to cut the ribbon cord of my FE by accident.

We use a pocket knife scissors, fingernail clipper or have the stateroom host do it for us (usually the last one!).

Kind of lame as it's not Disney themed, but I think I'll go with this as my FE and try to customize it (plus it only has three pockets so I guess DH and I will share one):

My AAA store has a little packet of multi-colored zip-ties (about 50) and it comes with 2 little nail clippers enclosed and can go in your carry on.

I have a fish extender headache. I just started with the embroidery sewing machine today. I have one pocket embroidered. I know I am going to do 2 more, maybe 3, but since there are only 2 of us in the cabin, I'm not sure. And I have to size the letters for the names. They come out of the machine too big if I don't do anything to them. I have time. I just can't do my knitting while the machine is working. It demands too much attention.

Finished my first attempt at a fish extender. I still need to find another applique but I think it turned out pretty good. If I have time I may try again since I have lots more fabric - I couldn't decide on just one fabric.
