Fish extender tips, tricks and pics

So this last cruise I was on did FE's as well, just not near as many participants - so we ended up with extra "goodies" we decided to walk the decks and dropped them in FE's that hadn't signed up - since it is around Christmas time, there were lots of stockings hung out that weren't on the FE list. It was kind of fun - I pictured their face when they found goodies :confused3

So if you don't have that many people on the list - take extra stuff and go into stealth mode :lmao:

We did the same because we knew on the WB repo that there may be people who didn't have time to sign up but also brought things to share with others... we had some silly things like light up braclets and candy and such that we left... it was fun.

FE use really varies....from just a few cabins to literally over 100 cabins. It really is fun.

Shopping ideas--check out dollar stores, after holiday sales, etc. After Halloween you can get pirate stuff (tattoos, etc). Also stuff that comes in multi-packs are good--pencils, note pads, highliters (good for Navigators!), etc. as is anything Disney related!

Other great ideas--small candies or munchies, things related to the ports you are visiting, etc.

Here is a view of our FE filled up on pirate night!

We had some great gift givers!!!

OMG! THAT IS AMAZING!

Sorry I haven't been checking in here... I used the Home Depot mickey heads- I used all 3 of the green colors they had. I think I used 10-12 each color.

I peeled them off the backing then ran them through my xyron machine (it's a scrapbooking tool that makes a sticker out of anything). I used a dinner plate as my center then placed the mickey heads down in layers, overlapping as I went. I pulled the whole thing off the plate and laminated it. I cut the "berries" using a scrapbooking punch.

I know this sounds dumb, but can you explain what you mean by "I pulled the whole thing off the plate?" Didn't that mess up the pattern?

This may be a little off topic, but anyhoo -

Am I correct in thinking that if it is just Dh and I, then I put two pockets on our FE????
And how many times to leave goodies for a small group (I think 10 - 15 ??) on a 7 day cruise?

This is a tote bag we used on our first DCL cruise...

This is what I made for our upcoming cruise...

I think we will have to cruise a few more times now to get good use out of it!

We love your wreath and the Pirate Mickey heads on your FE. We are going to make some as similar as we can. Thanks for sharing!

If you have a cricut, and the Mickey and Friends cart, it's easy to make that wreath without the paint sample mickeys.

I used a 2.5 inch head, and cut 2 sheets full of heads of each of 3 shades of green. The base was a 12 inch donut with a hole big enough to fit around the room number. I also cut a page of 1 inch mickey hands on white paper which I used like you would use statice in a real wreath. Punched red 'berries' complete the wreath part. For the bow, I used Minnie's hair bow for the body and two 'rolled newspapers' for the tails. If I can find a photo, I'll post it, too.

(and we'd DISed together for so long)

My team did a dry erase board with our DIS logo

.

Jackie -

I love that idea - the dry erase board. Any chance you have a pic of that???

And, btw, I love that "DISed" has become an official verb. Think we'll find it in "Webster's" any time soon???

Thanks!

I was on the original cruise with the OP and it was just my Mom and I. I had gone on two 4-day cruises but never signed up. We did for this cruise (we had such a great group) and looked forward to coming back to the cabin to see what was left behind. TheDisneygirl02 and I made the rounds and managed to only be "caught" by a few people!! Course we ran into others sneaking around at the same time.

I agree that I think I'll wait to later in the cruise next time. It was kind of a letdown to come back later in the week and there was nothing there. :sad1:

Still - we had the best time and getting involved with our DISgroup really made this trip special. :thumbsup2

BUMP

Because it's time to think about Christmas again.
