Hello Everyone.

So we are now up to 20 cabins. The popular vote right now is to cut the group at 25. I encourage everyone to add there vote as we only have 4 votes so far. Once we cut the group I will make a new thread and close this one down, (don't worry, I will link the the new thread), the reason for this is I didn't know I could not remove the poll once added.... doh. lol

The trip will be here in no time!!!!!

My friends have decided to participate in the fish extenders as well but she isn't signed on here just following on Facebook and on here. They are in the room next door to us but not sure of the room number right now maybe 6192 anyway they are Matt and Lisa.

I added them with you as the contact. Check to ensure I didn't miss any info. If they get a account on the dis let me know and I will update.

I would encourage the group to be mindful of there budget and don't feel obligated to break the bank. One family's "cheap junk" is another family's treasurer, or so they say.

Wow, I definitely need to correct myself because I just saw what I wrote that you responded to (your response above); I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression. My "cheap junk" comment was in no way meant as a slam that I think people can't give inexpensive things... not at all. What I meant is that if the group gets too large, then there is no way someone on a budget can afford to give anything nicer if they wanted and may feel they can only give "cheap junk" (a perception, not a reality). "Nicer" can mean anything; for example depending on the size of your group - when you're giving to 100 people, $1 per person equals nicer to me because that's $100 (and cheap junk would be something that's already been used LOL), but with a group of 10 people, $10 is nicer. So it's all in perception.

Reality is, you can give anything you want; that's the true spirit of a FE exchange.

Mike, with all due respect, I think you need to not make a decision to go with 25 in a group after just four people voting. I *just* signed on today after a few days away, and I have only just now seen your poll. There are many of us that have not voted yet. We are still six months out, and don't have to decide how many are in groups at this specific moment, do we? You have a running list of who signed up in what order, and should be able to divide at any time. Why not give the poll more time for voting? Why the urgency to decide? :confused3

Hi -

My Facebook is having problems so forgive me for not knowing the answers to this but ... Have we let the cruisers on our FB page know about the poll and the FE group size debate?

I just looked, and no, it is not mentioned there. But I just mentioned it there and asked people to come here and vote if they are part of the FE exchange.

Hi All, have voted in the poll, and would like to vote for a minimum 45 day maximum 60 day cut off. I want to be prepared, and not overwhelmed by last minute things. Thanks Wanda :thumbsup2

Kbrush, thanks for asking about the people on Facebook. Putting it there and now we're up to 10 votes instead of 4 and that's just this evening. I forgot to tell people to give input on the cutoff for signups though, just mentioned the poll. I'll go back and do that now.

Sorry, comment was not meant as a negative towards you or anything. I understood what you meant, just wanted to make sure everyone who is new to the FE understood as well. :-)

The urgency is due to it appears that the majority of people in the group wan't a group of 25 or so. We are just about at that number. In my opinion it will be much easier and less confusing for the group if we cut it, and let a 2nd group form instead of splitting it after the fact. For those that wan't a bigger group, (me included) will be able to join the 2nd group and go from there.

But, I do like your idea, and if everyone thinks they understand and can handle a group split at say, the 60 day mark, that works for me as well.

Once we cut the group I will make a new thread and close this one down, (don't worry, I will link the the new thread).

Hi, just wondering why we can't keep the FE signs up discussion all together on one thread, (this thread). Even if the are multiple "groups", I for one already am watching this plus the meetup thread in the Dis as well as the FB group?

All groups will be in one thread for sure, but I may need to switch to a new thread at some point to get rid of the poll. (There is no option to remove it). If that happens I will delete the first 2 posts with a link to the new thread, all you would have to do is sub to the new thread and it would all be the same and we would let this thread die. The poll tag on the thread is not that big a deal, I just don't want to risk people skipping thinking its something else.

Anyways, thats getting ahead of ourselves. For now, all is the same. ::yes::
