Friday, 8/15/ 03. The tropical wave has passed and the day is extremely HOT HOT HOT, but sunny! Yay. Had a fast breakfast in the room and to the north depot bus stop. (have I mentioned that i really like this bus stop? ha ha)
At MGM at 8:55 and start to head to ToT but we notice that it says "delayed" on the tip board. So does RnR coaster and several other things. What is going on? We go to get FP. We get 3 at ToT and 3 at RnR because my 2 kids will not be riding either of these. We made that mistake the first trip and it ruined the entire day. DS says "I am never going on that again". DD is scared to go upside down on roller coasters.
We go back and make PS for Sci Fi at 11:10 Am.
Sue and her kids go on GMR (my favorite). My daughter remembers the alien and won't go on. DS says no way. So we browse around the hat and my DD discovers Pin trading.
Yikes!! I was doing well on money till this happened. She was wearing her american express lanyard we got with our first trip and she had 3 pins on it. One of which was a Donald with a camera and a tiny tinkerbelle on it. A little girl came up and asked to see her pins and wanted her donald pin because she collects tink. DD picked a sorceror Mickey pin with the shiny EPCOT ball behind it. She is instantly hooked. Will I buy her 3 of the same pins so she can trade them? The excitement and expense of pin trading starts. ( I really wish I had invented this great money making idea).
We head over to Sci Fi for our PS. Kids loved it there. We got the lightup ice cubes and frisbees. They sat spellbound while hitchhikers Sue and I relax and talk uninterrrupted. CM Aleta was great. She gave the speeding tickets to the drivers. Kids thought that was hilarious. Food was so so, hamburgers, reubens but worth it for their enjoyment.
I went off to see Mermaid with DD and DS, while they went to do ToT and RnRC.
We see Buzz and Woody at Pizza Planet and my DS is beside himself to see his hero , Buzz. He made me bring his Buzz Lightyear membership card that he got with a matchbox buzz car. He tells Buzz that he is the "coach" of the club. Buzz proceeds to point to the card and show it to Woody. It was great character interaction and my son is thrilled.
Starts to storm and rain very hard so I decide to leave with my kids. They are just not big fans of this park. They both seem really tired. Sue decides to stay and do Fantasmic with PS at H&V. They loved Fantasmic.
Back at POR, kids both take a nap even DD age 9.
After feeling refreshed with nap and showers we head back to MK. It was fun with just the 3 of us.
My DS decides he will finally try Splash Mountain!!!!
There is a 45 minute wait with no FP available (it really took 25) He frets thru whole line and finally we get on. HE LOVES IT. YAY!!!!!!!!!!
We go ride BTMR (wait time says 50 mins but is really 20). We get FP for Jungle Cruise and ride Aladdins carpets after a short wait. It is stifling hot at 7 PM!! (but no more rain). Rode Splash again.
Rode JC in the dark and it was kind of spooky and you really couldn't see much. By this time I am starving. (they never wanted to stop and eat). We eat a fast meal at Cosmic Rays (YUK) and then to ride Buzz one last time. We get a gift of a FP from a very nice lady and we zip on. I got 946,000 points!
Off to the buses before the fireworks start to get out early. Have to get up early for EPCOT. Mars awaits us!
