I want to plan a trip for May 2005 as I had a great time this year during May 15-19. The weather was great - just before the really hot weather so we got to be in shorts the whole time and it was warm enough to do the water park. There were few waits for rides and that was solved by using FP.

My dilemma is - do I go during the first week of May with just my DH(we celebrate our 25th anniversary next March) or do I wait until around 5/21/05 to go as that's when my DS & his GF might be able to go, as well as my sister and her family? I get along great with my (twin)sister and family, but she can't go until her daughter is out of college for the year.

How much hotter will the weather really be? What's the difference in crowd levels? When do schools "down south" get out?

May is our family's usual time to go and we've been each week in May over the past five years. Obviously crowd levels and the weather varies from year to year, but it has been my experience that it gets hotter and more crowded each week in May (i.e. first week is least hot/crowded and week before Mem. Day is most).

I think the week of 5/21 could be a little dicey because it's probably the start of the Memorial Day crowds for people planning to stay longer than a week. Having said that, though, I would probably base the decision more on which group you'd rather go with.

My sister's nephews live in South Carolina and they get out the week before Memorial Day (actual day varies) which I think is pretty common in the South.
