We are thinking of switching our trip from early sept to the first week of October...how are the crowds that first week of oct? Thoughts on the MNSSHP that week?

Thanks

First week in October should be great weather and the crowd level is good. Make sure for do MK on weekdays because weekends are busy now that HS, AK have construction going on.

The first week of October will be busier than early September. October is busy with MNSSHP and F & W.
But the weather will be better - it should be a bit less humid.
It is certainly manageable, just not as low crowds as early September

October is when the weather will typically start to turn. No way to know when in October that will happen though. We were there once from late September into early October and it was mostly still surface of the sun hot. So be prepared for that.

Crowds will vary depending on if/when free dining is offered. If it's offered during your stay, expect it to be very busy. Lots of people like to schedule the last week of free dining in an attempt to miss the September heat.

Expect Columbus Day weekend to be very busy.

I usually go the last week of September/ first week of October. It's still usually pretty hot. Crowd levels vary based on the current deals. We are going the first week of October this year.

We went Oct 2-8 last year. On the 2nd, it was hot and then by the 3rd, it cooled off a few degrees :)
We wore dri-fit clothes our whole trip.

It was busy but we made sure to do Epcot (F&W) on the weekdays and we followed Josh's calendar.
We did RD almost every day especially since with the MNSSHP closing MK at 7pm.
Our party night was pretty busy too but I do not think it was a sell out crowd.

When we checked out on the 8th (late day), it was getting packed with people coming in for Columbus Day.

Have fun!

We go in early October - expect crowds. You'll hear: Oh, the level is great, crowds and weather are wonderful! The truth: It is hot and crowded. Is it better than summer? Yes, but for the crowds alone, summer handles them better. Everything is open, they're open later at night. October sometimes has big rides down for refurbishment (funneling more people into the parks instead of in line for Big Thunder Mountain, for example). Temp is usually in the 90s (occasionally 80s) and - as an example for a standby lines for Buzz Lightyear last time we went - were over 90 minutes by noon. The last few years we've gone, they've extended park hours because of more people than expected. We got off the phone with Disney a few weeks ago and the CM warned us that the first week of October is already crowded and filling up more by the day. If I had my choice, I would go in September, but we're at the mercy of school and work schedules. It's still hot, but crowds are lower in September.

the first two weeks in October have holidays.....so it will prob be somewhat MORE crowded........
