So how bad is it the first week of December say the 4-11 - I have heard it is fairly empty? true or not we were going to go in January but I would really enjoy seeing the Christmas Decorations and Parade any thoughts? DH parents want to take the whole family for Christmas Presents so this might be another reason to go then ?

We have gone the first week of Dec. a couple of times and have found that this is our favorite time to go. The parks are not as crowded, the weather is cooler but we are from Iowa so we think it is great and the Christmas decorations are awsome. I always reccommend people to go this time of year.

We've taken our 3 kids the first week of December twice and thought it was the perfect time to go. Low crowds, not too hot, beautiful decorations and shows. The evening Holiday parade at MK is shown on certain nights during the week, don't miss it.

Have fun!!!

Although some of the feedback on this past "early" December was that it was more crowded than previous years at the same time, I would still recommend going this time vs. any other time of December. We made the mistake of waiting until mid-Dec. this past year and it was too crowded for me! Way, way more crowded that previous (early Decembers), so we will probably return this time of year as well.

It may not be empty but it should be quite bearable and much better than later in the month (maybe we'll see you ;) ) :santa:

One of my favorite times of year to go. I love MVMCP...do it every year. But the only way you will see the Christmas parade is to go to MVMCP...at least until the end of Dec...they stop MVMCP around Dec 21 and start running the Christmas parade each night then, but until then you have to go to MVMCP to see it.
The parks aren't too crowded. They aren't empty since this is a very popular time of year for DVCers to go. And it can get downright cold at night. So be prepared for the chill and bring some warm clothing for nighttime.
Other than those few things...I think it's a perfect time of year to go. Be sure to see the Candlelight Processional in Epcot...it's beautiful.

We went that time this past year and I did think it was crowded. Not horrendous, but crowded. Pop Warner was also going on and that didn't help with the crowds. We usually waited under 20 min for most rides, but the biggies like space mtn, test track, BTMRR were usuall 30-50 and soarin was insane with about 1 1/2-2 hours wait, but its new so that is mostly a factor of that. I would say this is the least crowded time at christmas, but anymore just about anytime is getting crowded in the world. Off peak crowds are becoming a thing of the past, IMHO.
