First week in June?

Hi,

We've always gone to WDW during the slow season (October and February). We have friends that can only go in June. How are the crowds then? Is it terribly crowded? Is the first week of June better than the second week?

Thanks,
Deb

We went the second week of June 2001 to Universal and MK. I don't remember exactly what day of the week we went to MK but I know it was after Universal and I thought MK was crazy! We went Thanksgiving of last year and the crowds were similiar to that day. I am starting to think it's hard to find MK not crowded!!

We will also be there the first week of June. The unofficial guide lists Sat as 5, Sun - Wed as 6, Thurs and Fri as a 7 and Sat as an 8. To compare Thansgiving weekend is listed as all 8's. The rest of summer is listed as 8's. I think if we plan well and get up early we'll be ok.

we went june 4-11th this past june. we had only gone in the off season (jan, sept, mid nov) before that trip. wow, what a shock the crowds were to us! but we knew it would be so we planned planned planned. up early and to the ee park, out of the park after lunch and back to the hotel pool. we didn't go back to a park until after dinner. using fastpass was key.

the long hours are great and we finally went to a waterpark! the weather was HOT, mid 90's every day and it rained. not the brief shower you hear about but torrential downpours lasting for hours every night (not that we let that stop us!)

it was a great trip but we'll stick to the off season until the kids are school age.

We've been the first week in June twice now and are planning on going the same time 2005. The crowds will be there, but not that bad compared to really crowded times like July 4, Christmas and Easter/Spring break. We used Fast Pass a lot and always had one in our hands, sometimes 2. The parks are open later, as mentioned, and there are E ride nights, though I'm not sure now with the upcoming change they will still have those. Our favorite time to go is September, but as our boys get older, it's gets harder to take them out of school. We've found early June real manageable, just have to plan breaks in the hot afternoon.... You'll do great!! :earboy2:

We've been the first week of June once and the second week twice. While all three trips were crowded, the first week of June seemed a bit less crowded that the second week.

Have any of you ever stayed off site in summer? How did it affect your touring? I am considering a condo off site but am unsure. We have always gone in the week after Thanksgiving and that is a very slow time and we have always stayed on site. I worry that the difference of being off site and it being busy will make it not very "magical". We are paying the lodgeing for 8 this trip and on site really adds up fast! Even 3 value rooms will be around $250 per night with a discount. Any thoughts?

Hi!

We visited WDW in early-mid May...not exactly summer yet, I know. We stayed at the Marriott Village in Lake Buena Vista (Springhill Suites). It was our first trip, so I have no on-site experience, but I thought we were very close to everything and were never in the car very long. It was magical to us because it was vacation at WDW time!!! I think we're going for on-site the first week of June at a moderate just to see what the "on-site" hoop-la is all about! Let's have fun planning!!!!
