Hello everyone! I've been reading for a while and decided to finally sign up. This May my partner and I are heading to WDW! It's his second trip but my first time. He's calling it my graduation present (graduating with a Computer Science degree this year).

I'll admit I was very excited before but after reading the boards I am more excited then ever. Nervous even!

As a child my mother was never able to afford to go. Also I don't think my mother could have handled taking three boys with her haha.

We're gonna be taking a video camera and a normal camera. I'll post those for everyone to see!

Words can't express how excited I am. I have the best boyfriend in the world! I'm giddy like a 5 year old and I'm 24!

Congratulations! :cool1:

You are never too old for your "first trip"

Make sure to get the "first trip" button when you check in at guest services!

Hey! Welcome! That's a great graduation gift!

You are going to have such a great time! ::yes:: Don't be nervous, ok? Nothing to be nervous about at all (well unless you run into some of us here... ).

So, what are you looking forward to the most? Do you know where you are staying? Do you have any idea where you want to dine?

WDW is an amazing place! Be prepared to be awed! :teeth:

Wow that was quick! (replies)

We are staying at Pop Century. I'm not too sure where we want to eat. I'm sorta of a health nut but I know it could be hard to eat overly healthy while there. I'm willing to live with that haha.

Been looking at all the different parks and I'm a bit overwhelmed at what I want to do. I know I've *always* wanted to do Tower of Terror. I'm pretty open for anything. Any recommendations for first timers?

I was a bit disappointed when I found out I couldn't wear my Pocahontas costume. :rotfl:

Thanks for the tip. I'll make sure to do that. Wonder what that entails ;)

There is tons of healthy food at WDW!

Every park even has its own fresh fruit stand! :thumbsup2

Try the Wave at the Contemporary for starters....

Great! I always find it hard to eat properly while on a vacation. Thank You!

Pop Century is a fun place. ::yes::

Eating at WDW is an adventure in itself, but if you go to table service places, they are very good about altering dishes offered to meet your requests. We do it all the time. We are pretty healthy eaters too, so asking for steamed instead of fried, no added fat, etc. is second nature to us. WDW does a good job of dealing with our "fussiness."

Guest services is at each resort, and at each park. They can make reservations for you for meals, and will give you the "buttons" (large pins) for your first visit, birthday, anniversary, or anything! LOL.

Each park has tons of things to do as you might suspect.

Tower of Terror... well then, you'll probably want to do Rock N' Roller coaster too!

I will totally sport a big button! That'll just add to the fun. I usually don't like being overly fussy when eating out, but it is Disney after all.

I can only imagine how excited you are! I'm excited for you!! :woohoo: My most important tip is to realize you probably won't see/do everything. So make a list of priorities and make sure you do those. And just enjoy yourself!! Don't try to over do it running all around.

For dining, Epcot is a great resource. So many great places to eat there. Every trip I make sure to eat at Chefs de France. I've always found the food great and the waiters hot! ;) Jiko is nice for something different and trying new things.

First: :welcome: to the DIS and glad to have you on board! A first WDW visit is always fun!

Second: Your location reminds me of one of my favorite billboards of all time...

Thank You! That's a great board. I remember seeing it heh.

LOL at the billboard :)

And to Op as others have said you are never too old. I went to Disneyland numerous times until I was about 21 then I went to WDW at 24 or so... then hubby and I rediscovered WDW in our 30s and are dying to go back. :thumbsup2

I gotta ask you....

Please start a trip planning report....

I was 19 on my first visit, and I wish I had the Internet back then to document everything!

You excited about meeting the mouse? :confused3

What do you mean exactly by a trip planning report? :) I'm totally excited to finally meet the mouse! :wizard:

Yo Corbis!

Try the Sunshine Food Fair at The Land at Epcot. IMO it's the healthiest and among the tastiest counter service meal at Disney.

Have you considered how you will decorate your Pop Century hotel window yet? It is never too early to plan.

Pretty much what you are doing here, just keep us posted as to what is going on!

Most important piece of advice for a first timer:

GET UP EARLY AND GET TO THE PARKS BEFORE THEY OPEN. MAKE A BEE-LINE TO THE MOST POPULAR ATTRACTION AT THE PARK AND GET A FAST-PASS. THEN HEAD TO THE SECOND MOST POPULAR ATTRACTION IN THE PARK AND GET IN LINE.

Then after you have been there a few hours and it starts to get crowded, head back to your hotel for a nap or swim or both. Then head back to the parks in the late afternoon. You will see more in the first three or four hours after a park opens then you would if you got to the park at 11:00 and stayed all day.

Second most important piece of advice:

PLAN! Especially where you want to eat, and make ADRs as soon as you can. Otherwise you will waste a ton of time trying to figure out what to do next. There are a ton of books out there to help with planning a WDW trip. I like the Bob Sehlinger books.

Third most important piece of advice:

HAVE FUN! And who says you can't wear your Pocahontas costume?

GET UP EARLY AND GET TO THE PARKS BEFORE THEY OPEN.

So true! I had to go on Christmas Eve one year, to the MK!

Got there at rope drop, did every "D" and "E" ticket attraction, and were well on our way home by noon! :thumbsup2

Corbisblue, SO happy for you!! I took my DP for her 1st trip ever to DW and she loved it. I asked her to marry me and well, we're honeymooning there in Oct. It's VERY romantic & VERY magical. You never know what will happen? My only advice, is to take it all in! It's easy to get caught up in we MUST see everthing...but really, enjoy every park & your resort. Just sit on a bench and people watch, it's amazing...pixie dust is all around! Enjoy! ;)
