First Trip with Partner

:welcome:
Glad you joined us! Also, I would add to everyone's great suggestions (except for the crock pot idea:lmao:) that you make sure to make time to see the parades. I never was a parade person but WDW parades are in a league of their own.
Enjoy your trip and your planning!!!

I have a few fun planning trip ideas up my sleeve. I'll post it here when I'm done. I'm smiling just thinking about it. :goodvibes

At first I was thinking "what rooms in the POP have hot tubs in them??" Then it dawned on me what hot tub! :lmao::rotfl2:

Yeah...and POP's pools don't have hot tubs either, so, I ended up with a really scary image.

I am having chest pain. I think I should probably go call 911.

Ummn...before you do that, can you point me (via pm if you prefer) to the original info behind this joke? (I miss lots these days since I'm not around very much.)

OP: Have a great trip! I echo the "it's easy to eat well at WDW" comments, but, I'll add that it's only easy if you actually enjoy healthy food and/or have good willpower. I tend to do pretty well overall, because I don't like a whole lot of "junk food" things. But, there are still lots of things that I have to pause and ask, "do I really want it, or, does it just sound good?" about. The TS restaurants are terrific though and you can really eat food that will be healthy for you at most of them.

Congrats on your first trip! This site is a great resource for planning. But I also suggest you make time to stop and smell the roses (and the sweet scents coming from the bakeries!) Yes, plan plan plan, but also be willing to drop all those plans if somethings moves you!! It is a lot to take in but allow yourself some spontenaity. And understand that you will NOT be able to see everything and allow yourself to enjoy EVERYTHING you see!!!

You people live to torment me, don't you?

Why don't you tell him to freeze some taco meat and pack it in his checked luggage?

Wow. You can DO that? AND decorate your windows and doors????!!!!

I SO going shopping at Hobby Lobby to get some stuff and figure out all the food we can freeze. Guess I need to get another suitcase just for food!

*ducks flying objects*

I know where you live. Don't make me use that information for evil. :rolleyes1

Well, you can get one of those soft sided insulated cooler thingies that look like a big bag! Just think, you could check it with your luggage and it would stay cold!!!!

I think you can still get those little electric twisted gizmos that you put in liquid to heat it???? I'm sure with some creativity you could turn that into a cooking device. ::yes::

Apparently people are now using blow dryers to reheat their leftovers. :rolleyes1 You absolutely can not make this stuff up.

That sounds creative.

I remember when I was an undergrad with little money and living in a dorm that had rules against microwaves, but, they had a computer lab that got really warm. So, I'd take my leftovers and place them on the monitor vent for about 20 min while reading my email.

:) I think I'd prefer to use the microwave in the food court though.

OP: the advice that you cannot do everything is good advice. Don't even bother trying. Assume that you will be back--even if you are convinced that it's a one time trip. You'll have more fun if you do things well than if you rush through to "get it done".

Well that's getting creative! And here I was thinking using the coffee maker to prepare a pot of hot water to fill the sink and setting the leftover container in the sink.

Why not just take baggies along. Place all your food in one, make sure it is secure and plop it in the hot tub for a few. Those temps can be close to 104!:goodvibes

Just so we're all aware, food should be heated to 140 degrees. Bacteria flourishes between 40 - 140. Just sayin'. :rolleyes1

Seriously. ::yes::

Can you imagine doing these silly things we're teasing about?

The frightening thing is that people post that they have actually done some of these things! And they have decided it was so clever that they think other people should try it, too! :scared1: I wonder how many people who post about their awful bouts with food poisoning at WDW were using this type of "tip"?
