My family (DH, DS, myself) is planning our first trip to WDW the last week of May. :yay: I have been to WDW three times as a child but that was 20 years ago!! My DH and DS really want to stay at the All Star Sports. I have tried to change their minds but they are sports NUTS!! :rolleyes2 I was wondering if anyone had some advice on the must dos for my DS who's almost seven. We've also taken advantage of the Disney dining option so any suggestions on the best places to eat!! I need all the help I can get. :confused3

He will probably love the Sci-Fi restaurant in MGM. It's like a drive-in and you eat in cars while they show movie clips. It's very dark and they even have stars in the "sky". He'll probably enjoy a character meal or two! Some of my kids favorites are Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and Liberty Tree Tavern. Hope this helps.

We are taking our ds to the Coral Reef for dinner. I hope he enjoys seeing the fish swimming around. Hopefully that will entertain him a little while.

Also the morning that we are going to Animal Kingdom, we have reservations for Rain Forest Cafe for breakfast, but they aren't on the dining plan.

Also signed up for the Garden Grill character meal lunch.

Enjoy your trip. I'm sure whatever you do will be magical!

Sci-Fi restaurant sounds great and so does the Rain Forest Cafe. I 've really considered doing a PS reservation for the RFC even though it's not on the dining plan. I think it would be worth it. It looks like a fun place :Pinkbounc! DS really wants to do Sci-Fi and I was wondering what kind of movie clips they show? DS will be celebrating his 7th b-day while there. I've heard that if you tell the CM when doing the character dining, that they bring out a cupcake. Does anyone know anything about this? Thank you so very much for your input! It helps a lot! :thumbsup2

If they are sports nuts they will love the ESPN restaurant at the boardwalk.

Oh, Wow, I didn't know that ESPN had a restaurant at the Boardwalk. Would it be better to eat there for lunch or dinner?

I think the menu is the same for Lunch and dinner so it wouldnt matter. It wouod be best to try and eat there when there is a big sporitng event going on.

We've celebrated several birthdays there and they usually make a little fuss over the birthday child with a cupcake and singing Happy Birthday. I think at Sci-Fi they gave my kids a sundae. We also like the RFC. We always go to the one in DTD. They aren't on the dining plan but the kids like it. I bought the Safari Club card so you don't have to wait for a table since they don't take ADRs. I think it's about $20 but you get 10% off your bill and a free appetizer. If you go there be sure to save room for the volcano dessert. It was enough for my whole family.

Sci-Fi shows old science fiction movie clips with lots of "drive-in" commercials. It's a hoot. They also have one of the best burgers around. I'm sure you son will love (as my kids do) the drinks with the light up ice cubes. They're not included in the dining plan but well worth the $6.00. Have a magical trip.

We are so excited about going!! :bounce: Thanks so much for the great ideas!! They were a big help!! If you think of anything else drop me a line. :wizard:
