Hi, I'm new to this forum. After wishing I could meet Mickey Mouse since I was a child, I am now taking my 5 year old DD to DLP in January!:cool1:
I am on a pretty tight budget and I have managed to get an amazing deal for 4nights/5 days inc eurostar. I'm now looking for advice on about how much money I will need once we get there for food etc and what else I might have o pay for once we're there? Any help and suggestions welcomed!
thanks
Jen

Hi Jen

Welcome! You'll find lots of helpful information and people will be able to provide their own insight. As a guide, the fast food options within the park tend to be around the 10euros mark per meal, meals for table service is more. In the Disney Village you can get meals for around 15/20 euros each and up. For something like Chef Mickeys it can be more expensive - we just got back and had a 3 course meal for 33euros each. You'll also find optons for things like snacks and hot dogs. With the exchange rate it can be expensive but make sure to stock up on your breakfast at your hotel! Have a wonderful trip.

Hi Jen . Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

thanks for the info, very helpful.
could you also tell me if there is a mini-market or anything similar in the Disney Village or nearby?
thanks

How exciting for you! :yay: Where are you staying? I gather your park tickets are included in your package so the only things you'll have to pay for are food/drinks and souvenirs.

You don't need to buy the official photographs. You can line up to have your photo taken at the official character meet'n'greets and as well as the official photographer taking photos you can take them with your camera as well. If you want to be in the photo too just ask the CM to take it for you.

If your DD wants to wear a princess dress, although the DLRP ones are very lovely, they are very expensive. Most people buy them over here before they go at Asda, M&S or the Disney Store, or else you can often find a bargain on ebay.

Happy planning! :goodvibes

There's a little shop in the railway station where you can buy water/drinks/snacks and there's an even cheaper shop attached to the petrol station at the Santa Fe hotel.

Congrats on booking your very first trip! I'm sure you and your daughter will have an amazing time. Which hotel are you staying in?
As you are taking the Eurostar, you could take snacks and drinks with you. You may not be able to get them into the park (they check your bags and sometimes confiscate food, sometimes not, as I understand it :S) but we are planning on taking lots of crisps, sweets etc to keep in the room! Snacks like this are quite expensive in the parks and village.
But it is possible to eat nice meals without spending TOO much. Check this website www.dlrpfoodguide.com where you will find menus and prices for all the restaurants at DLP. The prices have mostly been updated in August 2010 so are accurate. I find this very helpful in planning and budgetting!
With Cafe Mickey in the village, you can go there for an amazing character experience without spending too much either. Pizzas are about 14/15 euros and are big, you could perhaps share one with your daughter. You will see all these prices on the website above. Hot dogs/sandwiches etc within the park are quite pricey but also very big, my sister and I usually share. So if it's just you and your daughter you could share too
Hope this helps.

Hi,

There is a 'mini mart' in the train station that sells some food and drink. There's quite a lot of snacks in there and it's much better priced than Disney.

There is a very large supermarket in the shopping centre at Val D Europe which is only one stop away on the RER train. There are also a few restaurants (which are much cheaper than Disney) and a sea life centre there.

The best value meal has to be Anettes in the village. For E17 you get a main course, a large drink and a dessert.

In the parks, you'll find that the Pizza meals are easily enough for 2 people to share. The cost about E11 and you get a drink, pizza and salad.

There's a McDonalds in Disney Village and it's probably the cheapest food in the resort. Very handy for lunch.

If you leave Disneyland Park through the exits on the right, you should see a little shop. It's worth looking at because they often have reduced prices.

thanks so much everyone. My DD is not a big eater but can be very fussy (usually choc spread sandwiches solve everything!!)
I'm so looking forward to the trip, more than she is I think! We are staying in the Santa Fe hotel.
thanks again

I'm sure you'll have a great trip.

There's a petrol station near the Santa Fe that sells drinks and snacks reasonably cheap. If you leave reception and head away from the hotel past the car park and to the entry gate, you will see it on your left. It's a 5 minute walk at most.

As you're staying at a Disney hotel a buffet breakfast will be included. We find it good to eat a big breakfast so that we can have a lighter (and cheaper!) lunch.
